Right now, I'm about to go to my father's house to retrieve my box. Then I have to get groceries. Being a housewife with absolutely no purpose is quite fun, but boring. It's been 4 days since my incident at the hospital, and I haven't heard from Leandro since. Well, other than the time he texted me telling me that we were going to host his parents for a week. Hence, the groceries.
Blake drives me up to my father's house, and I'm reminded of the last time I came here. My father refused to give me my mother's jewels for my wedding, knowing very well that I would feel connected to her. He didn't even acknowledge that he was sending his only daughter to someone to get married. I'm pretty sure he even got paid for it.
He basically sold me off. That-
I collect my thoughts as we reach the gate. Linda is waiting for me excitedly. I get out of the car and reach her. She hugs me and gives me a once-over. I smile at her happy face.
"You look so pretty, darling! Have you been eating well? taking care of yourself?"
Taking care of myself? No.
Eating well? nope.
"Of course! and you?"
"I have, here's the box." I head to the huge box behind her and gasp. There's not only one big box but a smaller one as well. I give Linda a glance, and she nods. I start to grab the smaller box and haul it back to the car. I ask the driver and Blake to help me with the bigger one. They put it in the trunk, and as I'm about to leave, Linda holds me back. I turn myself completely to face her.
She hands me a letter and a piece of paper. I take it from her grasp, and wave at her one last time. I walk over to the car and get, in, heading for the supermarket. Leandro hasn't talked to me since he texted me telling me that his parents are coming next week, hence the groceries.
After à while of driving, we finally get to the store. I go in with Blake and walk straight to the fish area. I pick up some salmon and some cod. I also pick up some pork belly from the butcher area. I head over to the pasta section and grab some lasagna sheets and some orzotto. I grab all the ingredients to make dinner in two days. I pass by the baking section and ponder over picking up some things. I decided to grab some ingredients to make some cookies.
Many chocolate chips and fruits later, I walk up to the register and as I'm about to pull my card to pay, my fingers brush against the credit card Leandro had given me to plan the wedding. Well, he didn't say for the wedding specifically, did he? Nonetheless, I pull out my own card and complete the purchase.
I walk out of the store, and head to the car, bags in hand. We load everything in and make our final route to the house. Once we get there, the guards bring the box inside, while I bring everything else into the kitchen. I unload everything, and make my way up to my room in anticipation, to be opening my mother's things.
I go straight for the shower, ready to wash away the sweat. I take off my rib wrap, and start scrubbing my skin, lathering it in my signature vanilla and rose scent. I also wash my hair, and when I step out, I spread some lotion of the same scent on me. I pass a brush through my hair, and let it air dry.
