1-week skip – the wedding

Sliding on my mother's bangle, I smile. I am truly blessed to be able to wear my mother's jewelry on my special day. I wish she was here with me, but we can't always have what we want. I was wearing three pieces of my mother. A beaded choker, and two bracelets. All three have Arabic wording on them.

I smoothen out my dress in the mirror, and smile at my reflection, although forced. Should I be feeling like this, on my wedding day? I should feel overjoyed, but for some reason, I feel...

Empty.

Three knocks resound at the door. We are currently at Alphonsine's house, getting ready.

"Come in!" The door creaks open, and Kiandre's beautiful figure walks in. She smiles as she takes in my appearance. "You look so pretty, your mother would have been so proud if she saw you"

I smile back at her and look over her outfit. She has her maid of honor dress on, and she made her hair in a curly messy low bun. She has on some Dior pumps, and a little makeup accentuates her features.

"You look amazing as well. Where's Sine?"

"I'm right here, taking a picture. You two looked so cute, I couldn't resist." She fully walks in, revealing her mint green dress as well, and in her hands lay my bouquet and her phone. She was also wearing a pair of heels and was wearing her hair in a low bun as well.

"Thank you. Truly. For everything. For always having my back, and being the best best friend a girl could wish for."

"No, thank you. You have been a ray of sunshine in our lives since we met."

"You guys are going to make me cry. Okay, let's get going" Sine hands me my bouquet, and we all walk out of the house, ready to hop in Kiandre's car, that'll be taking us to the event. All while driving, we chatter about my post-marriage life and a honeymoon. The girls mostly talk, but I include myself in the conversation here and there.

I pull out my phone and pull out Leandro's contact. Should I text him? I mean, I don't have anything to lose anyway.
