"Where is she?" I roar, once I pass the hospital doors. I got news 10 minutes ago that Lunae was admitted in this hospital. The whole drive to the hospital was rushed, and I couldn't get a hold of Blake.
I just hope she's okay.
"Who are you looking for, Sir?"
"Lunae Marsai, She's been admitted here about 30 minutes ago? I'm her husband"
"Ah yes. Room 301" I thank her with a nod, and dash down to the elevator. Once I get to the third floor, I go into her hospital room, and my knees nearly give out on me.
There she is, laying in a hospital bed, hooked to a breathing machine, looking pale as ever, with scratches and red marks on her face.
There she is, laying in a hospital bed, because I couldn't protect her.
"Lunae... I'm so sorry. I couldn't protect you" I get nearer to her bed, and take off my suit jacket. I sit down close to her and place her hand in mine.
"I've failed you, and left you alone"
"This shouldn't have happened"
"It's not your fault" A small, but rough voice snaps me out of my thoughts. I look up at Lunae, and relax à bit, when I notice her eyes open.
"Are you alright? Don't sit up. Do you want some water? I'll go call the nurse-"
"No need, I'm right here" The nurse comes closer, and starts checking her heart rate, and taking her off the breathing machine. Once she's done, she takes out the IV out of her arm, and gives her a band aid.
"Sir If you could follow me outside?" I nod, but as i'm trying to get up, Lunae's hand squeezes mine.
"I'm not going anywhere, amorina. I just need to talk to the nurse about your condition, alright?" I kiss her forehead when she let go and head out of the room.
"Alright. Your wife is stable, so there's not much to worry about in that aspect. But, we found traces of drugs, specifically ketamine. The date rape drug" She whispers that last part, but loud enough for me to hear it.
"We did a lavage, and there's no trace of it in her body. But, she may feel some symptoms of removal. So, keep her hydrated, well-fed and well rested. Her other wounds have been taken care of, especially the pieces of glass found in her knees" She nods as her dismissal, and walks away.
I take a deep breath, and try to register everything.
What happened?
I don't want to ask her now, so I don't overwhelm her.
I walk back into the room, and see Lunae trying to pour herself a cup of water.
"Let me help you, you're not healed yet" I pour her the cup, and as I'm handing it to her, she simply looks at me, with blank eyes. I push the cup towards her, and that snaps her out of her trance, as she takes it, and gulps it down eagerly.
I hand her a second one, and she drinks it halfway, before settling down in the sheets. I tuck her in, and sit back to her side, closing my eyes as well.
After a few minutes, she tosses and turns. "What's wrong, amorina?"
"I'm not comfortable, and I can't sleep" Her voice sounds clearer that it did when she woke up. I fix her pillow, and arrange the covers. I also set the room's temperature a little colder, to regulate Lunae's body temperature.
"That's not what I mean" I turn to her with a tilted head. She opens the covers, and I chuckle.
"Of course we can snuggle, if it'll make you feel better" I take off my shoes and belt to be more comfortable, and lay down beside her. She snuggles up to my chest, and sights in contentment. I push away the hair on her forehead, and sigh.
It's raining outside right now, and an amazing view of the city of Chicago can be seen. It's probably about 7pm right now, but it's already dark. I look back at Lunae, and I see her fast asleep. Maybe this was what she needed.
I grab my phone, and snap a picture of her. Although she may look rough, she is still the most beautiful woman. I quickly text Vincent, and ask him to bring Lunae and I a change of clothing. Soon after, sleep finds me, and consumes me.
I bet y'all forgot who's Vincent.
Cuz i did too-
