Magic and lightning part 4/5 improper mindset

After figuring out a plan to help Malcolm, Chester got to work on a device to split Belos from Malcolm. He went and got a reflector chip to finish the device from the ruins of STAR labs. He later installed it into the wrist beam he created. Once he was finished he went to find Barry, Luz, Amity, and Kiki. 

Chester: Guys! I did it. We can save Malcolm now.

Luz: What is that?

Chester: This is a light particle beam designed to replicate a new body for someone with two minds. 

Kikimora: And you're sure this will work?

Chester: Yes. But there is a problem.

Amity: What exactly?

Chester: The beam will only work if both people are awake, and Malcolm was in a coma when this happened so that might be a problem. 

Luz: Might be?

Chester: Look, trying to fight magic with science, is like playing memory. I don't know what might happen.

Barry: Wait. The legends deal with magic all the time, can't we get them?

Chester: Nah, they're still MIA.

Luz: Wait magic exist in the human realm?

Barry: Yeah. Not my thing. Theres another problem though, we don't know where he is.

Luz: I might be able to find him. But every time I try it hurts. 

Barry: I could help you with that. 

Kikimora: Well, hurry that up, for all we know Malcolms body is turning into mush, or worse.

Luz: What could be worse than that?

Kikimora: Belos could end up using him as a hostage. Or he could kill him and keep his body.

Barry: I don't think thats how it works.

Luz: She has a point, we've never really understood what happened to Belos, so anything is possible. 

Chester: Okay, positive thinking please, he's not dead, I'm sure of it. Barry and Luz will try to find him while Amity, Kiki, and I will plan on what to do. Got it.

Barry, Luz, and Kikimora: Got it. 

Barry and Luz head off to a quiet space to train, while Chester, Amity, and Kiki, try to think of a way to track Malcolm down without needing Luz's powers. 

(Barry and Luz pov)

Barry and Luz are sitting in a cleared out office room. They are both sitting crisscrossed for this. 

Barry: Okay, so what's the problem?

Luz: Every time I try to seen a moment in time, I get a sharp pain in my head, it's worse now because, Belos is using Malcolms powers as a psychic block. 

Barry: Hmm. Have you tried practicing on a different moment?

Luz: What do you mean?

Barry: When I first tapped into the still force I focused on an object and person. Iris and her hair brush. Maybe you need to learn to walk before you run, ironic being that your powers come from the still force. 

Luz: "Laughs" yeah. Okay what should I do to get started?

Barry: First breath like you would during meditation, then close your eyes, and follow my voice. Imagine yourself in an empty space, then think of something with a strong emotional response.
