Chapter 1

Previously on Prologue

"Thank you..." she said in a weak tone. The man just smile at her. He turns around and walks out of the room, leaving the girl by herself. The girl stares weakly at the wall in front of her. The world around her slowly turns dark.

-Strange Girl-

3rd P.O.V

Levi mound his horse. He turn to look at his squad, who's doing the same with their own horses. They're all going on another expedition. Once he's sure everyone is ready, he gives the instruction to her moving.

The squad soon reaches the outside wall. "Stay on guard everyone. Keep your eyes open for any sign of threats. Do not engage in any battle unless I give you the permission. Understand?!" He said. His voice is filled with superiority among his squad. He receive the respond of 'yes captain' from his members.

"Captain!" Someone called out. Levi turn to look at the person. She's pointing towards a certain direction. There's a group of titans gathering at one spot. Levi signals his squad to not make any sudden noise, because they don't want to alert the titans of their whereabouts.

Levi guide everyone to a safe spot so they can get gear up. He dismount his horse and start to put on his gear, while still keeping his eyes around. Once everyone are geared up. They shot up to a building using their techs.

The titans finally took notice of their presence. Thus, all of them starts coming for Levi and his squad. "Alright! I want you all to fight with your brain! Don't be reckless, and try to not get yourself killed!" Levi said, warning his comrades to not act recklessly. With that being said, they fly off to different directions to fight the titans.

Each of them are trying their best to avoid the titan's huge hands. If they get capture by those hands, it would be impossible to break free unless someone comes to their aid. But at a battle like this, everyone will be busy with their own lives to help one another.

One of them gets captured by one of the titan. But let out a horrified scream as he struggle to get himself free from the giant's grasp. Just as the titan is about to bite him off, a shadow flew by and slashed the titan's nape.

The titan collapses on the ground, as the man flew out of the dead titan's hand. He touches his face in disbelief. "I-I... I'm saved?" He said. He looks around, trying to see who saved his life.

A figure lands on the ground not far from where he is. He stares at the person in shock. "A girl..." he muttered in a low tone. His comrade lands next to him.

"Jean! Are you alright??" One of them said. Jean turns to look at the person to see it's Sasha. "Are you hurt?" She asked again. He shakes his head. He just turns his head to look forward as the girl just stands where she is.

"Who is she?" Eren said, staring at the girl in wonder. She is wearing clothes that are covered in dirts and dusts. The sight makes him wonder if the girl's actually have a home or if she's living around there. "Hey... um, thank you. For... for saving our comrade. May I ask who are you?" He asked.

He try to approach the girl. The girl only backs away at his action. One of the boy lift his hands in surrender. "P-Please... we mean no harm. We just want to know you. Your name, perhaps? So we can thank you better" Amrin said.

Levi just stares at the girl as she stares back at them with coldness in her eyes. Eren tries to get closer to the girl. She panicked and turn around, quickly running off.

"Hey! Wait!!" Eren yelled out. He was about to run after the girl, but Levi quickly outstretched his hand in front of him to stop him from pursuing the girl. Eren turns to look at his captain in confusion. "What? You're just going to let her run? She's living outside the wall! It's dangerous!" He said.

Levi turns his head to look at him. "Clearly she's been living outside the wall for who knows how long. But she doesn't seem struggling to survive. And plus, we can't just chase after her. It's obvious that she's afraid... if we chase after her, we'll only make her more scared. Come on... let's head back to the base" he said. Everyone nods their heads in agreement. Eren turns his head to look at the direction the girl had ran off to. He let out a sigh and turn around, following the rest of his comrades.

Everyone are now gathered in the meeting hall. Levi just sit in his usual spot, talking about their encounter with the strange girl who lived outside the wall. He explains what happened when he was out there with his fellow captain.

"A girl?? Living outside the wall?" One of the girl said. She looks both in shocked and intrigued. Levi turns to look at her and scowls.

"Yes, shitty glasses. Just like what I've said... who she is? None of us know. She ran off as soon as one of us tries so much as take one step closer towards her. From the looks of it... she seem terrified" Levi said. He moves his hand so they are held together, supported by his elbows.

"She's terrified? Of what? Of us?" Hanji, the girl who got called Shitty glasses by Levi said. Levi shakes his head lightly, letting her know that he also didn't know what the mysterious girl was so afraid of that she ran off.

"Can't we try to get this girl here? Who knows, maybe we can learn something from her. How she's able to survive outside the wall... and such" Erwin said. Levi turn to look at him.

"I doubt it. It would be hard to get her to come willingly" he said. Erwin hums softly at what he said. He nods his head and think for a while.

"If we have to use force... then so be it. We have to find a way to get her. We can learn a thing or two. Maybe we'd even find a way to finally kill off all the titans" Erwin said. Everyone seem to agree with what he said. Levi clicks his tongue. He felt annoyed.

Just a few seconds ago, he told them that the girl looks terrified when she saw them. Trying to take her by force would only terrified her more. He feels confused why he suddenly feel the need to protect the girl, when he didn't even know who she is or even her name.
