Chapter 20

My body trembles as I still feel the fear in me. Levi tightens his arms around me. I don't ever want to be near those people again. I don't want to be reminded of that horrible experience. Anything but that.

-Leave Me Alone!-

Y/N P.O.V

Levi have brought me back to his office, so I can be more comfortable to calm down. Which works as I finally started to calm down. But I make no move to pull away from his arms. Instead, I just tighten my arms around his torso and bury my face deeper into his chest.

"Hey... everything will be alright. You've got nothing to worry about. Alright?" He said, in a soft soothing voice. I just nod my head, still leaning against his chest. I want to stay in his arms forever. I don't ever want him to leave me.

I slowly pull away slightly to look at him. He smiles at me as he places a hand on top of my head. I hum softly as he gently caress my hair. I feel a soft kiss on my forehead, making me smile.

"I love you..." he whispered softly, still pressing his lips against my skin. I smile softly as I move back a little to look at him. I lean up and places a gentle peck against his lips.

"I love you too, Levi" I said. He smiles happily at what I said. He's probably happy because I can finally be more open about my feelings now. More than when I was first brought here.

He slowly leans down, placing a kiss against my lips. I close my eyes, as I return his kiss. He wraps his arms around my waist as he pulls me closer. I wrap my arms around his neck.

"Shouldn't you be training the us at this hour?" I asked once we pull away from each other. He let out an annoyed huff as he pulls me closer, leaving no space between us and buries his face into the crook of my neck. I let out a giggle at his reaction. "You're the captain of this squad, Levi... it's your responsibility..." I said.

"Fine... come on..." he said. I let out a soft giggle as he grabs my hand, gently pulling me out of his office. I look down at his hand as I smile softly to myself. I entwine our hands, making him turn to look at me. The way he stares at me with such a gentle gaze makes warmth spreads in my body.

I'm currently running on the track with Eren next to me. He's already breathing quite hard while I'm not even breaking a sweat. I turn my head to look at him as he sweats profusely.

"Y... Y/N... p-please h-have s-s-some me... mercy" he said, out of breath. I shake my head while letting out a laugh. I slow down my pace until eventually stopping, making him instantly stop. He drops on the ground while breathing heavily, along with the others. I let out a nervous laugh as I calmly sit down on the ground, making sure to keep my legs straight to avoid getting muscle cramp.

The only reason for that was Levi's instruction. No one is allowed to stop before me. So they can only stop when I do, and requested that I don't go easy on them knowing I have a much better endurance compare to anyone in the group. I kind of feel bad after seeing how exhausted they are.

"Sorry, guys... I got a little carried away" I said, laughing softly as they sprawled on the ground. They just groaned out in respond. I cover my mouth as I laugh at them. I feel a pair of eyes on me. I turn my head slightly and make eye contact with one of the evil scientist who happens to pass by. I feel my body getting tensed at the sight of them as they stare at me with their cold gaze.

"Y/N? Is everything okay?" Eren asked. I turn my head to look at him to see him staring at me worriedly. He turn his head slightly as I do the same to see the scientist has left. "What are you looking at?" He asked.

I turn my head to look at him and shake my head. "It's nothing... don't worry. I just thought I saw something. But, let's just forget about it" I said. He stares at me with a doubtful gaze.

"You've been behaving quite strangely lately. Are you sure that you're okay?" Armin asked. I just hum softly and nod my head. He let out a sigh, realizing I'm still not open with him. "Alright, fine... if you say so. But tell me or just anyone if something is bothering you. We're your friends, and we don't want you to end up collapsing or get sick because of stress again. Okay?" He said. The others nods their heads in agreement. I just smile at them, nodding my head lightly.

"Alright then... I need to go and take a shower. Bye, everyone..." I said. I move to stand up and wave at them. I smile softly as I turn around, walking away from them. I stretch my hands above my head as I slowly make my way to my room to grab some fresh clothes to change into.

I turn around the corner and froze when I come face to face with the scientist. My eyes widen as my breathing starts to become uneven. A smirk slowly spreads across his face. He slowly walks towards me, making me back away.

"Leave me alone!" I finally managed to let out. But that only makes him more amused. I soon realize I can't back away any longer because of the wall behind me. I start to panic as I try to find a way to get out of this situation.

"That scientist that helped you to escape is dead... and it is all your fault..." he said. My eyes widen at what he said. A flash of the kind smile that man gave me flash through my head. I feel tears slowly streams down my cheeks. I look down as I clenched my hands into tight fists. That man helped me... and he got killed because of it.

Why... why is always my fault? If they had just left me alone and didn't put me through so much, none of this would have happened. Yes... it wasn't my fault. It was those greedy people who're at fault.

"It is your fault... you hear me? It is YOUR fault!! You are nothing but a monster!!" He yelled at me. He lift his hand to punch me but I grab his wrist, clutching onto it tightly. My gaze are low as my bangs cover my eyes.

"No... that is not my fault!! YOU greedy bastard are the ones who're at fault" I said. I slowly lift my head as I glare at him. "We're Ajins... but we would never harm anyone. It is YOU who put us through hell! If you hadn't done any of those torturous experiments just to see if we're actually immortals, and put us through death repeatedly. If you hadn't done that, we could've all live in peace without any wars or chaos or murders. YOUR greeds are what made us this way!!!" I yelled angrily, glaring at him. His eyes widen slightly at my sudden outburst. My black sand starts flowing from my body, forming multiple IBM's.

"I do not wish to hurt you... so leave me alone. If I see your face around me again, I will not go easy on you..." I said. My voice dangerously low and threatening. His eyes widen as he starts to tremble in fear. I release his wrist and he quickly turns around and runs off.

I let out a shaky breath as my IBM's slowly disappears. I drop on my knees as I stare at the ground. I can finally stood up for myself after such a long time. I'm not scared anymore.

I realize now that I'm not completely defenseless. I never was... it was my fear that stopped me from protecting myself. Which causes me to constantly rely on Levi to keep me safe. But now I can be stronger. It will be my turn to protect him and all of my friends from any harm. I will return their kindness and assist them to annihilate all the titans.
