Chapter 27

"Don't think too much about it..." I said. He just nod his head. He leans over to place a quick kiss on my cheek. He knows that I would scold him if he tried to kiss my lips when there are others around us. I smile softly at him. I hear Kei clicking his tongue behind me. Oh, dear God... when will this ridiculous quarrel going to end?

Y/N P.O.V

The gate slowly opens and Levi soon gave the sign that we can get going. I urge my horse to start running. I hear a soft yelp coming from behind me as the arms around my waist tighten. I just shake my head at his reaction.

I guess Kei really is afraid of falling off of a horse's back. He didn't hold onto me to annoy Levi. Guess I'll just let him be for now. As long as he didn't try anything that will make Levi angry.

I look forward to focus on the mission. We have to be careful out there, as it is the Titan's lair. Who knows what will be waiting for us. If we're not careful it would be the end of us. Not that it worries me, as I'm immortal due to being a Demi-Human. Along with Kei. I'm more worried about the others... especially Levi.

I turn my head to look at Levi who's riding his horse two horses away from me. He's right on the outside line. This means if the titans attacks, he'd be the first to jump into action. I clench my hands around the reign. I shouldn't be doubting Levi. He's known for the Humanity's Strongest Soldier. He's not going to go down easily. He's going to be fine. So I've got to have faith in him.

"Titans sighted!!" A voice yelled out to alarm everyone. I turn my head to see a group of Titans rushing towards us. I turn my head to look at Levi as I wait for him to give us instruction. He turn his head to look at me. I give him a curt nod, to let him know I'm ready to jump into battle. He gives me a small smile and turn his focus on everyone else.

"Listen up! Use your brain during the battle and try not to get captured. Fight carefully, understand?!" He said. His voice sounded firm and stern. Everyone yells out "yes, Captain!" in response to his command. One by one, they start to switch to their 3DMG. Everyone needs to use their gears except for me, since I have a winged shadow that'll help me fly around.

Kei jumps to stand on the saddle and uses his gear to fly. His shadow didn't have wings, so he won't be able to fly like me. I summon my shadow and let it lift me up from my horse. We fly towards the Titans.

"Hanji-San!" I called out as I fly closer towards her. She turn her head to look at me. "Which one of these Titans do you want for your experiments? I'll try my best to take it down without killing it" I asked. She grins excitedly at what I said. She turn her attention to look at the Titans and points at one of them. "Roger that, Leader" I said. I control my shadow to fly me towards the Titan Hanji-San have chosen.

I pull out my dual swords and cuts off the Titan's ankles. It instantly collapse on the ground. The others shoots nets at it to trap it. I grin happily as I control my shadow to lower me down on my horse. I hear a scream and turn my head to see my fellow comrade getting overpowered by the titans. I click my tongue in annoyance and summon shadow again.

"Y/N! You used your shadow too much already! You're going to get exhausted!" I hear Levi said. I turn my head to see him up in the air. He turn and rush towards me, landing on the ground. He stares at me with a stern gaze. "That's enough on your side. I'll help those brats. You stay put" he said.

He soars into the air again as he rushes to his squad. More titans starts appearing from all directions. I click my tongue out of annoyance, realizing that we've all been surrounded by those monsters. There's no way I'm just going to stay back and do nothing, while everyone's lives are on the line. You may be captain... but you ain't the boss of me, Levi. 

I summon my shadow again. I breathe heavily, as I feel exhausted from the amount of black sand I've been used up to summon my shadow. But I force myself to keep going and fight. I'm not going to let anyone lose their lives.

Levi is heading to the last sighted Titan when his gear starts malfunctioning. My eyes widened in horror when he starts to fly out of control. "No! Levi!!" I yelled out. I control my shadow to fly towards him and kills the Titan that's about to catch him. But the Titan manage to bite a bit of his calve before I could finish it off. I fly towards Levi as he starts falling and catches him.

I lower him on the wagon that we've brought with me. I bit my lips to control my emotions as I watch the wound on Levi's calve keeps on bleeding. If I don't do anything, Levi won't make it. I take off my cape and wrap it around Levi's calve.

"We need to head back now! Levi's hurt!" I yelled out. Everyone agrees and Amrin who's controlling the wagon starts to instruct the horse. I turn my attention to Levi as I hold his hand. His face starts to get pale quite fast. I feel tears building up in my eyes from the fear of losing Levi. "Hurry!!" I yelled to Armin who desperately instruct the horses to move faster.

I continue to put on pressure on Levi's calve to try and stop the bleeding. I turn my head to look at Levi as he starts to go in and out of focus. I bit my lips as tears starts gathering in my eyes. I blink them, letting the tears rolls down my cheeks.

"Levi... please stay with me. Don't lose consciousness. If you lose consciousness. You might not wake up again. L-Levi, please d-don't leave m-me" I said. My voice cracks a little towards the end of my sentence. Levi gives me a weak smile as he lightly squeeze my hand.

"I'm going to be okay" he said. His voice sounded soft as he tried to calm me down. But I just start to cry. The fear of losing him is getting to me. I watch as my cloak starts to get soaked with his blood. Damn it... he's losing too much blood. God, please don't take Levi from me. I don't want to lose him.
