Chapter 7

Previously on Chapter 6

"Join us, Y/N... join the Survey Corps. You can be one of my cadets, and I will make sure no one will try to hurt you. I promise..." he said. From his eyes, I can see that he's being sincere. I may trust him... but can I trust the others?

-First Training-

Y/N P.O.V

Levi stares at me expectantly, waiting for my answer. I bit my lips as o turn my head to look forward. I'm not sure if I should go ahead and join the Survey Corps like he said. I don't know if I'm ready to let everyone else here find out about my true self. I glance at Levi to see him still staring at me. I let out a soft sigh. I guess... I'll give it a try.

"Okay..." I said, turning to look at Levi. He stares at me. I smile softly at him. "I'll join the Survey Corps" I said. A smile starts to form on his face. He stands up and offers a hand to me.

"Come on..." he said. I just place my hand on top of his hand. He gently pulls me to my feet. "Let's introduce you to the rest of the squad. You'll be joining mine" he said. I just smile at what he said. I nod my head in agreement. The two of us walks towards where Erwin and Hanji are. After informing them of my agreement to join the Survey Corps, and I can meet the rest of Levi's squad.

I just follow Levi, as he leads me through the base. I have my hands inside my pocket as we walk in silence. I'm not sure what to expect of his squad. I mean, I've meet them a couple of times when they were on expedition, even save one of them. But I don't know whether I could trust them or not.

"You look tensed..." Levi commented. I turn my head to look at him. I can see concern reflecting in his eyes. "You don't have to worry. They are good people. They won't hurt you. As if they could anyway. You're pretty strong if you managed to survive out there" he said. I just give him a smile, feeling a little at ease because of his assurance. I still feel nervous... but not so much.

After a while of walking, I can see a couple of people in the training ground. Some are jogging, while others have a little sparring contest. Everyone seems busy with their own things.

"Cadets!!" Levi's yelled. I got startled by his sudden loud voice. Levi turn to look at me, smiling apologetically. I just give him a smile. He turn to look at his cadets as they stop whatever they're doing and rushes to gather in front of him, forming a straight line. "I'm sure you all know who she is. But to officially introduce you to each other, her name is Y/N. She never mentioned her last name... but that's not important. What IS important is she will be joining this squad. Starting today. So I expect all of you to make her feel welcome. Understand?!" He said. His voice is filled with superiority.

"Yes, Captain!!" They all yelled together. They each have their fist on their chest. I'm guessing that's how they all show their respects towards the teacher. I turn my head and observe each one of them. Until my eyes landed on one specific person.

He notices my gaze and walks forward. "Hi there... I'm Jean Kirstein. Thank you for saving my life the other day" he said, grinning at me. I just nod my head lightly at what he said. The others follows his lead and start to introduce themselves to me.

I turn my head to look at Levi who clears his throat. He hums as he notices he have gained our attentions. He turns his attention to me. "Just because this is the first day. Doesn't mean I'll let you slack off, Cadet Y/N. You're start your training right way" he said. I blink my eyes at what he said.

"Right away... as in... now?" I asked, while pointing at the ground as I stare at him in confusion. "Like right now?" I added. He stares at me with a glint of amusement in his eyes.

"Obviously... and from now on. You'll be calling me Captain Levi, just like the rest of them. So don't expect any special treatment" he said, placing his hands on his hips. I just nod my head at what he said.

"Okay, Levi... ah, I mean... Captain Levi" I said. He nod his head in satisfaction. He give my shoulder a gentle pat and pushes me towards the rest of his cadets. I let out a yelp as I stumble a little. "Hey!" I protested, turning to face him only to see him walking away. I let out a huffed and turn my attention to the rest of them.

"Alright... since you're new here. Maybe we should start with your endurance. Let's start with a light jog?" Reiner said. I just nod my head at what he said. He gives me a light smile. "But first... you need to do warm ups..." he said.

"Okay..." I said. I walk a couple of feet away from them and start to stretch my body. I start to warm up, making sure I got every muscle in my body loosen up. Otherwise, I would get cramped up. That would totally sucks.

Once I'm done with my warm ups, I start to do light jog around the area. I try my best to control my breathing so I won't be tired too quickly. I've done this quite a lot back when I was still back in C/N. That was all before I found out I was an Ajin.

"Your endurance level was surprisingly high. Now let's see how you do with hand to hand combat..." Reiner said. I turn to look at him and nod my head. He gestures me to walk forward. "Just because you're new here. It doesn't mean I will go easy on you" he said.

"I wouldn't want it any other way..." I said. He smirks at my confidence. We take a battle stance. He didn't make a single move, so lunges forward first. He dodge my attack and jab me on my ribs. I stagger back a little, but manage to stay balance.

He grins at me. I just click my tongue in annoyance. This time he lunges at me. I jump over his body and do a flip. I lean on the ground right behind him. I swing my feet and kick him on his back, sending him staggering forward. He lands on the ground. I sit on his back so he won't be able to get up and grin.

He shakes me off his back and turn the table, so he's the one hovering above me. I kick him off me and get up. "You're strong... I'd give you that. But you're kind off slow" I said. I've decided to stop playing around. I rush forward and duck when he swing his fist at me. I hit him on his pressure points. His body freezes up and drops on the ground.

"I win~" I said, grinning while placing my hands on my hips. He blinks his eyes as he looks surprised. He try to move but he have a hard time. I walk towards him and hit the same point I did to lock his muscle. He moves his hand to see that he's able to move again.

I stand up and offer my hand to him. Instead of accepting my hand, he swipe me off my feet with his. I fall back and lands on the ground, landing with a thud. "Ow..." I said, making Reiner chuckle.

He stands up and offers his hand to me. "You're very light on your feet, huh? You seem to be aware of that and used to your advantages flawlessly. And that move... I'm very impressed that you managed to locked my movement" he said.

I let out a chuckle at what he said. I grab his hand and let him pull me up to my feet. He have my hand in a firm hold as a handshake. "You're going to be a formidable ally" he said. I just smile at what he said. Maybe... just maybe.
