I'm not worried about Kei, since he's an Ajin just like me. But Levi is just an ordinary human. Even though he holds the title of Humanity's Strongest Soldier. He still won't be able to stand a chance against Ajins who are practically immortal. So what can I do? Gosh... this is so frustrating!
-Conflict-
Y/N P.O.V
The tension between Levi and Kei is noticeable. Those two would start glaring at one another as soon as they're inside the same room. I want to do something about it. But I don't want to make the situation awkward. So I've been doing nothing about those two, mainly because I'm not sure what to do or how to confront those two about their obvious tension.
I'm currently giving my horse a bath. There's no training session today. Everyone pretty much still needed to rest after the last expedition. I'm the only one who's in perfect shape given the fact that I'm an Ajin. I can just kill myself and revive as with a healthier body.
I hear footsteps coming closer towards me. I turn my head to see it's Kei. I smile softly at the sight of him as he stops walking once he reaches me. "Hey, Kei... how's your stay so far?" I asked.
"Certainly better than before with all the chase and run" he said. I hum softly and nod my head. I understand what he's talking about. After all, we were on the run together. That's pretty much how we met. We met at a small village when a kind elderly woman named Ms. Yamanaka gave us shelter. Kei was kind of cold at first. But once we get to know each other, he's surprisingly a gentle person. We became best friend ever since.
"Hey..." Kei said, snapping me out of my daze. I turn to look at him as he stares at me. "Don't you go zoning out on me" he said. I let out a nervous laugh at his comment. He rolled his eyes at my reaction. "So... you and that Levi guy. How long have you two been together?" He asked. I blink my eyes in surprise at what he said. Kei never showed any interest in relationships. So to have him ask about Levi and I is quite a surprise.
"Well... we've been together for quite a while now" I said. He just hum at what I said. I raise an eyebrow at his reaction. "Why do you ask? You never show any sign of interest in relationships..." I said.
"What do you see in him?" He asked. I stare at him in confusion. He steps closer to me, making me back away a little. "I've always been there for you... but you never see me the way I see you" he said.
"What are you talking about, Kei?" I asked. He clicks his tongue in annoyance as he keeps walking closer towards me. I keep backing away until my back is pressed against the stable's wall.
"You say that I've never shown any interest in getting in a relationship... that is because I've been waiting" he said. I just stare at his red eyes. He leans his face closer to me. "All these time... I've been waiting for you to open your heart for me" he said.
I notice his face leaning closer to me. My eyes widen as I realize what he's trying to do. I quickly place my hands on his shoulders, pushing him off me. He looks hurt by my action.
I look away from him to avoid making eye-contact. "I'm sorry, Kei... I have Levi. I can't do that to him" I said. I remove my hand from his shoulders and moves out of the way so he's not cornering me against the wall anymore. I turn around so my back is facing him. "I don't see you that way..." I said, in a hushed voice. But loud enough for him to hear.
"Why? What did he have that I don't, Y/N? I've always love you! We're both Ajins... we don't have to worry about losing each other. We'd just come back to life each time we died! But that man is just an ordinary human. If he die... he'd stay dead. You'd be heartbroken when that happens! But with me... you don't have to worry about losing me... I'm a much better match for you than him. I can even treat you be-" he said.
"That's enough, Kei!" I shouted at him, cutting him off. I turn my body around to face him. He looks startled by my sudden change of tone. "You gotta stop bad mouthing about Levi. No matter how much you try to deny it... no matter what you said. Levi is my boyfriend, and I don't appreciate any words you're saying about him... it's true that he's just an ordinary human. But I still love him as he is! And I hope that you'd be happy for me, Kei..." I said.
He speeds walk towards me. "But I can be a better match for you, Y/N! Just let me show you..." he pleaded. He cups my cheeks and was about to place a kiss on my lips when a fist makes contact with his cheek. I gasp in shock at the sudden intrusion. The impact cause Kei to fall on the ground with a loud thud. I turn my head to look at where the fist is coming from to see Levi. He looks very angry as he breathed heavily while glaring at Kei.
"Levi!" I said. I rush towards him and grab onto his arm as he walk towards Kei. He looks like he's ready to beat Kei senseless. He turn to look at me. I shake my head. Even though Kei have crossed the line. He's still one of my closest friend. I don't want the man I love and my best friend to fight.
Levi's eyes soften as he stares at me. "She already told you no, you bastard. A true man will never force himself on a woman... you're a coward. Make a move like that on her again and I'll make sure to break every bones in your body. I don't f*cking care if you're an Ajin. I will break your bones repeatedly if I have to" he said. I tighten my arm around his as he try to walk towards Kei again.
He turn to look at me. I stare at him pleadingly. He let out a sigh and turn to look at Kei. "I'm warning you, Nagai. Stay away from my girlfriend" he spat. Kei turn his head to look at him with a hateful gaze.
He turn his gaze to look at me and make eye-contact with me. I stare at him with a pleading gaze, silently begging him to not provoke Levi any further. Levi gently grab my hand. We turn around and walks away, leaving Kei who's still laying on the ground.
Levi takes me to his office. He opens the door and gently pulls me inside. "Close the door..." he said. I just did as told. I turn to face him after closing the door and flinch when I see that he's already so close to me. "I told you, didn't I? He sees you as more than friends..." he said.
"Yeah, you're right about Kei" I said, nodding my head slightly. Levi look troubled by the fact that Kei is in love with me. I slowly lift my hands, cupping his cheeks. "But it doesn't matter, Levi... the only person I love is you and no one else" I said. He let out a sigh and wrap his arms around me. He buries his face into the crook of my neck.
"Promise me you'll never leave me for anyone else?" He said. His voice sounded hushed. But it's enough to let me hear the vulnerability in him. He's truly scared that I might actually leave him for another man.
"I promise I will never leave you for anyone else. I love you, Levi" I said. He just gives me a small smile. He cups my cheeks and leans down, placing his lips against mine. I close my eyes, kissing him back.
"I love you too... I don't ever want to lose you, Y/N..." he said, after we pull away to breathe. I just hug him. I try my best to give him a sense of reassurance that I will not leave him for someone else. Levi is the only one I love... like ever.
