~ Allison ~
"Bring your skates with you." Austin says with a smile. "Why am I bringing my skates if I'm coming to watch your game?" I ask a little confused. "Just trust me. Okay?" He replies. "Okay." I reply as we stop at my car. I pop the trunk and put my bag and stick in the back as Austin walks over to the side of my car. I close the trunk and make my way to the driver's side where he's leaning against the door.
When I stop in front of him, he stands up straight and opens the door for me. "Why thank you." I smile. "You're most welcome." He replies with a huge grin on his face. "Drive safe Ally." He says. "I will." I reply as he closes the door. I start my car up and roll down the window. "See you Wednesday." He says. "I'll be there." I reply before he walks off to go find his truck as I back out of my parking space to head home.
** At Home **
I pulled into the driveway when I got home and turned off the car. I grabbed my phone and popped the trunk to grab my bag. I locked the car and went inside through the garage. "Hi mom." I say as I pass the kitchen. "Hi sweetheart." She replies. "Is Jack home?" I ask. "Yeah, he's upstairs in his room finishing up a project for school." She replies. "Okay." I say before heading down the hall.
I leave my gym bag in the front hall before making my way up the stairs. I gently knock on Jack's door before he calls out. "Come in." He says as I open the door and walk in. "Hey, what's up?" He asks as I lean against the wall. "Not much. How's the project going?" I ask. "It's going. Just have a couple more things to do then it's done." He replies. "Nice looks pretty cool from what I can see." I reply. "Thanks." He says. A moment of silence goes by before I speak. "You don't have any plans on Wednesday night do you?" I ask. "No, why?" He asks curious to know what I'm up to. "Because Austin saved two tickets for me for the Marlies home game that night so I thought we could have an AJ night." I reply
"Yeah, I'll take an AJ night at a hockey game!" Jack exclaims. "Alright cool! The game's at 7 so we'll grab a bite to eat before we go to the game." I reply. It's been a long time since Jack and I have had an AJ night. We've got busy schedules these days so we take any chance we can to have sibling time. "Okay cool." He replies. "Alright, I'm off to bed now. Night Jackie!" I say. "Night Als, love you big sis!" He replies. "Love you too kiddo." I smile.
I close his bedroom door behind me on my way out before I step into mine. I check my phone to see three notifications. Two from Lee and one from Austin. I reply to Leah's text before I open Austin's. Did you make it home safely? I read as a smile creeps up on my face. I did! Thanks for being so concerned. I reply. Good, I'm glad you did. He replies a couple of seconds later.
I put my phone down on my nightstand and grab a change of comfy clothes and make my way into the bathroom to run a nice hot bubble bath to help relax my muscles after tonight's practice.
** After Bath **
I was on FaceTime with Leah telling her about my day when she asks about Austin. I told her about my encounter with him at the rink after I had gotten off the ice and how he reserved a pair of tickets for me to Wednesday night's game.
"Als, I'm telling you... Austin obviously has a crush on you girl!" Leah exclaims as I try and hide my red face. "Tell me I'm wrong!" She adds knowing that I'm blushing like crazy. "And I know you're crushing on him too. There's no hiding it Als." She exclaims. "Yeah, yeah, Whatever!" I reply rolling my eyes.
