~ Allison ~
I woke up this morning and went for a run around the block with Jack before coming home to shower and get ready for brunch with Leah. Today we've planned to have a girl's day since it's been a while since our last one. I grabbed a pair of blue skinny jeans and a white shirt from my closet along with one of my warm plaid sweater jackets before getting changed and putting my white sneakers on. My apple watch goes off with a notification, it's a text from Leah saying she was here. I quickly reply that I'll be down in a minute before I grab my phone and small purse before leaving my room and quickly rushing down the stairs. "I'm going out with Leah! See you guys later!" I shout out through the house. "Okay, bye honey. Have fun and tell Leah I said hi!" My mom shouts back. "I will, love you!" I say before opening the door and rushing to Leah's car.
"Hey girl, hey!" Leah says as I open the front passenger's door and slide into the passenger seat. "Hey!" I smile before turning to close the door and put my seatbelt on. "Ready for a great girls' day?" She asks backing out of the driveway. "Are you kidding?! I've been looking forward to today since we planned it!" I exclaim. "Oh my god me too!" She replies driving down one of the main streets.
** At Brunch **
The waitress brought us our food and we thanked her before we began to dig in. "So when were you going to tell me that you and Austin were a thing?" Leah asks getting straight to it. "Lee, we're not a thing! Austin and I are just friends." I reply remaining calm. "Als, from the way he was looking at you last night at the rink... That screams more than friends to me!" Leah exclaims. Here she goes again! Trying to make a big deal over something small. "Lee, can we not make a big deal about this? Please? Austin and I are just friends, he texted me to ask when my game was so I told him, thinking he might not show up cause of his busy schedule." I reply. "But he did show up to watch and cheer you on." She says as I take a bite of toast that I picked up from the plate in front of me. "So what happened after your game? When I left?" She asks sensing something. "What do you mean what happened?" I ask pushing her a little more.
"Als, don't play me like that. I can see it in your eyes that something happened last night." Leah says raising her eyebrows at me while she lifts her glass of orange juice to take a drink. "You wanna know what happened?" I ask. "Oh my god just spill the tea already!" She exclaims. I grin and take a quick drink before telling her. "So after my game last night, he asked me if I wanted to go grab a bite to eat with him so I said sure. We ended up going to Mcdonald's and he paid for me even though I told him he didn't have to. Then before he drove me home, we went for a drive to the lake." I tell her leaving out the part about his secret getaway.
"Aww, so it was a date!" Leah squeals. "No, it wasn't a date!" I exclaim. "He was just being nice!" I add. Leah looks at me waiting for more. "Anyways... So when we got to the lake, he helped me out of the truck and took me down to the water. When we got there, he handed me my skates and we went for a little skate on a big patch of ice that was cleared off to play some pond hockey." I say as Leah looks at me in awe. "Tell me you kissed him at the end of the night." She says as heat rises to my cheeks and I stay silent. "Ally! I need to know the ending of this story! You're killing me here!" Leah exclaims. "Well actually... My skate got stuck in a groove on the ice and I was mid-fall when he acted quickly and snuck his arm around my waist while the other grabbed my hand and then... He leaned in and kissed me." I say ending the story as Leah looks at me excitedly. " I knew it!" She shouts as I roll my eyes and laugh at her.
** Later at Home **
"Thanks for picking me up for girls' day. It was fun!" I say as Lee puts the car in park. "Anytime girl!" She smiles. "Oh and keep me updated on you and Austin eh?" She adds as I roll my eyes. "Yeah, yeah." she raises her eyebrows at me. "I'm serious Als!" She says. "I know. I'll talk to you later." I say getting out of the car with all my stuff. "Alright, bye!" "Bye!" She smiles.
