Chapter 20

Tuesday flies by and after practice, a couple of us head out to grab a bite to eat and a drink at the bar. "So man, how're things going with Ally?" Alex asks as I take a sip of my beer. "They're going pretty good. She's coming to our game tomorrow night and I told her to bring her skates." I reply.

"You gonna take her to the cabin after the game for a lake skate?" He asks. "No, after the game we're gonna go skate on the big ice. I already asked coach if I could hangout after the game and he said he's cool with it." I reply as Alex takes a sip of beer. "Why do I feel like there's more to it?" He asks raising his eyebrows. "Cause I think tonight's the night I'm gonna ask her to be my girlfriend." I say to him as a smile sneaks up on me. "Atta boy A man!" Alex exclaims patting me on the back.

** At Home **

When I got home from the bar, I let Easton out into the backyard to do his business then grabbed his dog bowls to top them off with food and water. As I put both bowls back on the ground, Easton paws at the backdoor. "One sec buddy, I'm coming!" I say as I make my way to the door to let him back inside.

"There ya go." I say as he trots past me and goes straight to his food. after I've locked the door, I make my way upstairs and go have a shower. Once I had finished my shower, I changed into a pair of sweats and a Marlie's hoodie before I make my way back downstairs.

I grab a glass from the cupboard and pour myself a glass of water before walking into the living room to play some video games. As I'm setting up my game, my phone starts to ring and I drop the controller and pick up the call when I see Alana's name on the screen.

"Hey what's up? Everything okay?" I ask as I pick up the phone, accepting her call. "Yeah, everything's fine. Are you home?" She asks. "Yeah I'm home. Why?" I ask. "Could you come pick me up from work please?" She asks. "Okay, yeah ill be there in 10." I reply as she thanks me before we both say bye and hang up.

"Wanna go for a ride buddy?" I ask Easton as he lays on his pillow looking up at me, his ears perking up. "Let's go." I say as he gets up, going to the front door. I grab my keys before locking up and making my way out the door.

** 10 Minutes Later **

"Hey Lana." I say as she opens the passenger's door and hops in the truck. "Hey! Thanks for picking me up." She replies buckling up before turning around to pet Easton who was excited to see her. "Hey buddy!" She exclaims as I pull out of the parking lot.

"Mom was at a work function and dad's working a night shift so I hope you didn't mind that I called." Alana says. "No, it's fine. I was just about to play some video games when you called anyways." I reply making a left turn. "How's Ally?" Lana asks.

"She's good. I asked her to come to my game tomorrow night." I reply. "Oh yeah?" She asks. "Yeah and told her to bring her skates cause I'm planning something special for after the game." I reply as Alana stays quiet for a moment. "You're gonna ask her to be your girlfriend aren't you?" She asks as she turns her head smiling at me. "How'd you know?" I ask. "Cause, a sister always knows when her big bro's in love." She replies.
