25. The Call

One month later...

Everything has been going great here in Barcelona.

The team is first in La Liga and have been playing really well!

Me and Gavi are very happy together and continue showing our love and affection towards each other everyday.

Today I decided to mainly stay in the office today since I have some things I've put behind.

I turned on some music and began going through my picture files.

I made sure all the pictures were in the correct grouping, don't want pictures from a different match mixed with another.

Every so often I'd take a look out the window and watch the boys train.

I heard my phone ring and saw it was a incoming call from dad.

I clicked the button, "What's up?"

"Are you alone right now?" he asks.

"Uh yea why??" I reply.

I immediately get up and close the door and turn the music off.

"It's..it's mom."

My heart sunk into my chest. It felt like I was stabbed over and over again.

"Wh-what happened to her?" I ask, my voice shaking.

"It's time we say our goodbyes. She's getting worse." He says.

Tears began strolling down my eyes. "I'll get a flight right away." I tell him.

"I'm so so sorry. I'll see you soon." He says and hangs up the phone.

Mia opens the door. "Hey Anna do you have-"

My knees felt wobbly and I fell to the ground.

"Oh my god Anna!!" Mia yells and gets down on the floor.

I try to tell her what happened but I can't. All I could do was cry.

She immediately hugs me. "Shh it's okay, it's okay."

Mia comforts me until I've calmed down. She takes my hand and helps me stand up.

She asks, "Anna what's wrong? What happened?"

"It's..it's my mom. I have to say my goodbyes." I reply.

Tears began to flood Mia's eyes too. "Oh my god I'm so so sorry."

"I have to go back home immediately. I haven't even told Gavi about my mom being sick." I tell her.

"It's okay. Just tell him your visiting some friends back home. I won't tell anyone." Mia says.

"Thank you so much. I don't know what I would do without you." I sniffle and hug her tightly again.

Gavi's Pov

Every so often I take a look at Anna's office. This is my way of knowing she's okay.

When I first looked, she was doing something on her computer and saying something. She must've been listening to music.

But the second time I look, she's on the phone and looks worried.

Just seeing her like that made me feel anxious.

I tried to clear my thoughts and payed attention.

But of course I looked again and she was hugging Mia tightly. Then she grabbed her purse and practically ran out of her office.

What the fuck is going on?

Luckily there was a flight leaving for France in two hours.

I quickly rushed home and threw clothes into the suitcase. I then grabbed my toilet trees and also through them in another bag.
