Marinette and Adrien sat at a table inside of a cozy little café. Adrien decided not to sit next to a window so if Lorenzo just happened to pass by, he wouldn't see them.

"So... how was college?"

Adrien crossed his arms as he looked at the blue haired girl. She didn't return his gaze and instead, looked at everything but him.

"It's was... good."

"I can't believe you're dating Adrien. You're just so... ordinary. Not in a bad way! He's just so popular and a lot of girls like him. Are you sure he will actually wait for you?"

"I... trust that he will."

"Not trying to burst your bubble, but guys like him, they're good at playing girls like you. You'll fall into their trap without even realizing it. I just... wouldn't want to see you get hurt, is all. I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't be surprised if he doesn't wait for you."

Marinette bit at her nail as Lorenzo attached a piece of fabric to another piece of fabric.

"You... really don't think he will, do you?"

"I don't know. It's just something to think about. I mean, he's a model. You're a designer. You make clothes for people like him to wear, which means you're below him on the social class. The people don't see you, they see him. If it wasn't for people like him modeling your clothes, no one would wear them because no one would know they exist. Are you following me?"

Marinette nodded her head.

"So, you think he's... using me?"

"Using you would be an understatement, darling."

Lorenzo shrugged and picked up some thread.

"Do you really think he's working at your parents bakery? He could be using that as an excuse."

"An excuse? For what?"

"Yeah, like, he says he's busy working at the bakery but he's actually busy cheating on you."

"But my parents said he was actually there."

"You'd be surprised what people would do for money."

"You're saying that Adrien paid them to lie to me? They wouldn't do that."

"As I said, you'd be surprised."

"I assume you were busy?"

"A little, I had breaks every now and then."

"So, why did you disappear?"

Marinette rubbed her arm nervously.

"I didn't do it on purpose. I wanted to call a-and visit but..."

"There you two are! I was wondering where you guys ran off to."

Lorenzo put his hand on Marinette's shoulder. By the way she tensed, Adrien could only assume that he was squeezing it.

Standing up, Adrien wrapped his own hand around the boys wrist that was planted on Marinette's shoulder and knocked it away.

"I don't appreciate other guys putting their nasty hands on my girl like that. Come on, Marinette, we're leaving."
