A Suspicious Ally

A/N: how many clone troopers do you know off the top of your head? I am just curious. At the end I will tell you how many I can name. (No, don't just scroll down then back up plz). Hope you like it.

"Midnight" Rex said in surprise. "Who's there?" Midnight said, drawing her DC-17 blasters. "Captain Rex," Rex said, putting his hands up just in case. "Oh, hello captain, Valda told me a lot about you. I am sorry for your loss. She was also my friend" Midnight said in a flat tone that sounded like there was no emotion. "Are you a bounty hunter?" Rex abruptly asked. "Tied in the bounty hunting games to only The Reaper" she said, picking her helmet up. "Wait where are you going?" Rex asked. "Away from here" Midnight said. "what, why" Rex was confused but also curious. "You wouldn't understand," Midnight said, turning and leaving as everyone fixed the place up. (the sober ones). Rex ran out of the 79s and caught up to Midnight. "Try me," he said, crossing his arms over his chest. She inhaled and exhaled loud enough for Rex to hear. "Fine," she ground out. "That's better," he said.

"I used to work for the Republic but then one day a ship crashed into my home and the Jedi who was there just said that 'sometimes these things happen' I lost my whole family from that crash and she didn't even apologize. they don't care. I became a bounty hunter from age 6." she clenched her fists but her tone remained flat. "Miss Ice i sorry i didn't know" Rex held out his hand and took a small step forward. "Admiral Ice, trooper" Rex's eyes widened "Valda had always been ahead of me in the GAR but i left before she died" the Admiral said before disappearing into the darkness of the night.

MIDNIGHT'S POV

I slipped into the darkness and ran down the alleyway. I jumped onto a forgotten street vendor's cart. I made it to the place it all started and walked into the wreckage of the house. The roof was gone, bathing the rubble and pieces of surviving furniture in moonlight. I sat down on the rock that I normally sat on when I came back but something caught my eye. a shining came from behind a piece of chair. I cautiously came nearer to it and moved the rubble and dust away and found a long slender piece of beskar with a nice sharp point.

REX'S POV

I slowly made my way to the barracks and thought a lot about what Midnight had said. "General Skywalker, we need to talk," Rex said, walking up to his young brash general. "What is it about Rex?" he asked. Were there ever records of a female Jedi crashing on Corasant into a house." He had an edge to his voice that Anakin had never heard in his Captain. "Well yes, 19 years ago, why do you ask?" Anakin said curiously. "I just met a bounty hunter who said that her family was killed in a crash and she was the only survivor and she was 6 at the time." he said, shifting his helmet in his hands. "What was her name?" Anakin asked wonderingly.

"Midnight Ice" Rex said casually. Anakin gasped and was surprised that she had survived this long. "How did you meet her and where?" he hurriedly asked, looking for his jacket and remembering that Jedi don't wear jackets. "the 79s" rex responded as Anakin ran around the room. "how" he said looking for his lightsaber. "a guy barged in the door and aimed a Z-6 at us telling us to back up against the wall and she didn't move. he shot at her and she was in front of him really fast and killed him there in the middle of the 79s" he finished as Anakin remembered his lightsaber was on his belt. "Come on we are going to the wreck and figure out why she is back here and not the guild's HQ" Anakin said in air quoted as he practically dragged Rex out of the Temple. They ran down various alleys and on roofs.

"no I'll jump this time i don't need to be yeeted, again" rex mumbled the last part.

he jumped over and they kept on going towards the house. they were closing in on the wreck and Anakin put his fingers to his lips. Rex nodded and Anakin jumped down very Jedi-like and quiet. He got closer to her and saw she had a beskar spear stuck in the ground next to her. He quietly gripped his lightsaber and took it off his belt.

"Hello Anakin"
