The Way of a Warrior (Rex x OC)

Midnight Ice

A/N: Hey, here is chapter 5. We are going to meet some new character.

As the group left the atmosphere of Umbara, Rex remembered all the things that he and Valda had done in those couple of months together. "Vod, you feeling alright," Fives asked, laying a hand on Rex's armored shoulder. Rex stayed silent as more tears escaped and down the captain's face once again. "How could he just do something like this?" Rex said in a whisper that was barely heard. "I don't know, Rex," Fives sighed. "I just don't know," rubbing his vod's arm for comfort. When they landed Rex had stopped crying and his voice sounded normal, but he was still broken inside. "Welcome back," Anakin boomed, not knowing what had just happened a few hours ago. Fives waved and Rex set his helmet on the ship's seat and walked to the clone barracks. "Re-. Fives what's wrong, why does Rex look so down." as Rex brushed past the young Jedi General.

"It has been hard the past rotation," Fives said, leaving to go find Rex. "Jesse, will you explain to me what is going on?" Anakin asked the ARC- Trooper. "When you left Pong Krell came and during one of our last battles we were fighting the enemy when Rex found out that the enemy was us and not Umbarans. Pong Krell had told us and the 212th that they were the enemy wearing our armor," Jesse explained.

"Ok, following you so far, but where are Krell and Valda? '' Anakin questioned and could see Jesse's face saddened when he had mentioned Valda's name.

"When Rex and Valda had exposed him and were going to bring him to justice, the Force pushed all of us against the walls of the control room and Valda shot him. He jumped out the window and we followed him. We had made it into the forest and a skirmish was going on. Then after that Krell he ... umm," a tear rolled down his cheek recalling Valda's death, "he stabbed her in the stomach and she ordered Rex to go and get him. He went and she said to me that she wasn't going to last much longer and that she needed me to help Rex get over this. So she forced me to leave. A little while later when we were trying to shoot Krell she had slowly made her way over and shot him. We all ran up and she fell onto Rex and after a few words she died in Rex's arms. We buried her there on Umbara and left." Jesse finished waiting for Anakin's response but there was none. He finally said, "oh umm well you should go do what she told you and help him," Anakin said as Jesse walked towards the barracks.

"Oh and maybe take him to the 79s."

He wouldn't normally suggest this but under the circumstances he thought that Rex needed a night out somewhere.

REX'S POV

"Rex," Jesse said, coming into Rex's room. It was all clean except for the armor littered across the floor. Jesse sat down next to Rex and put a hand on his shoulder just like Fives. "You want to come to 79s. The general has let us have some shore leave before we go back on the front lines. What do you think, cap? " Jesse asked. "Yeah I'll go, I guess" Rex responded, not even knowing what he was agreeing to. Jesse helped Rex get ready within 5 seconds of him agreeing. "Come on vod hurry up." Jesse tried to hurry his brother. "Are you sure I won't need my blasters? '' Rex asked. "yeah. Come on Rex, it's the 79s what is going to go wrong."

in the 79s it was full of clones and civics , but more clones. "Go up to the bar and grab something," Fives said, clapping the rex on the back a little too hard and the rex almost fell over. The blonde clone mozied his way over to the bar and had ordered some plain 'ol water. He just looked at the glass of water swirling it around when some tall dude walked in with a Z-6 and said, "everyone up against that wall NOW!" rex distinctively grabbed for his DC-17 and remembered that he didn't have them. so he just went over to the wall like everyone else. even the bartender went over there but stayed as close to the bar as he could. The guy looked around and spotted a figure in the corner of the 79s sitting in the booth. "Hey, I told you to get up against the wall like everyone else, '' the guy seethed. they didn't move an inch. "I said come out" he was furious but they still didn't move. He started to shoot at the person and as soon as the first blaster bolt got to them they jumped out of the booth and were standing in front of the man in less than 5 seconds.

I stood there in shock along with everyone else. The punk threw a fist at them and they caught it with ease. "what-" he said trying to pull his fist away but couldn't. "no" a deep gravelly voice sounded from within the helmet. They kicked him in the stomach and he landed with a thud on the opposite wall. The figure picked up the Z-6 and aimed it at him. "Who are you?" He barely got out because he was so scared. "the last face you will ever see" they said shooting him. They broke the Z-6 in half and threw it across the room. "Who are you?" I asked , stepping out of the mass of people. They looked at me and removed their helmet. She was a tall woman with a scar across her left eye and a cloak around her body (like the one Rex wore in the Bad batch season 1). She removed her cloak and set it down on the table next to her along with her helmet. her armor was charcoal gray and had some blue streaks of paint in places and others blaster bolt marks.

A/N: Here we are Chapter 5 already. I can't believe it. wow. I will have a couple chapters written already so that I can work on the others so your ideas may not come up in the next one but it will be there.

Fives: i will get plenty of people to read this

SWTCWNerd: yeah and how are you going to do that

Fives: i will just tell my bros to read it

SWTCWNerd: oh umm what do you think of that idea Echo

Echo: i think it is a good one

SWTCWNerd: ok folks you heard it here fives will attempt to get all of his brothers to read this. Frankly, I don't think he will be able to accomplish his goal.

Fives: Hey i th-

Hardcase: shhhhh

SWTCWNerd whispering: what that is ridiculous

Echo and Rex whispering: have you met him lately

SWTCWNerd: good point
