The Way of a Warrior (Rex x OC)

"What!" Rex said, very surprised. "Rex you have to believe me it's the only other option," Midnight hoping that Anya wasn't a Sith. "That can't be true. I know Anya she wouldn't do anything like this. Especially killing her own men just to prove a point," Rex said in disbelief. "I know it sounds crazy but what else is there?" Midnight replied in a sad yet cool tone. Before Rex could reply his comm started beeping. "Captain Rex, are you there? Captain come in," Anakin asked urgently. "Yes General, I am here, what do you want," Rex said back. The line was unanswered for a little too long for Midnight's liking. "Rex, I need you and Midnight to get back to base for the briefing," Anakin said as Rex and Midnight raced back to the base. "Good you are here just in time," Anakin greeted them as they ran into the briefing room.

The mission was briefed and the team got aboard a gunship headed towards the planet of Kiros. "Who are you?" Ahsoka asked, pointing a finger at Midnight. "I am an old friend of your Master," she replied, moving Ahsoka's hand away from her. "Where are all the people?" Ahsoka looked around confused. "They are probably hiding," Anakin suggested. "The Separatists have used the people as living shields before," Obi Wan stated.

"Biker droids inbound," Midnight pointed out. As the Jedi ignited their lightsabers, Rex and Midnight drew their blasters. Midnight aimed her blaster at one and shot it perfectly in the middle of its head.

"Nice," Rex said in the helmet comm. Midnight nodded and fired again but this time a blast hit her in the shoulder causing her to miss. Anakin cut up the last droid as a low evil chuckle echoed in the alleyway behind Midnight. They turned to see a cloaked figure make their way down the alley. They had a blaster in one hand with smoke rising from it. "Midnight are you ok?" Rex asked worriedly. "Oh she's fine," a deep gravelly voice responded for Midnight from underneath the hood. "Their right Rex I am fine" Midnight said, gripping her shoulder. Another laugh sounded from the mysterious figure before them. Anakin rushed at them and ignited his lightsaber. But they disappeared before he got close enough.

They all scrunched their eyebrows together before Anakin said, "let's keep on moving. The faster we find the people of Kiros the faster they are saved."

TIME SKIP TO THEM INFILTRATING THE BASE ON KADAVO WITH MASTER PLO KOON

"The shields on the towers are too strong," Master Plo said, firing some more blasts at some more turret guns. "The controls are destroyed, Master Plo," Obi wan said, trying to find a way to save the Togrutans.

"I cannot move the cruiser in for the rescue operation until those enemy canons are destroyed," the Admiral said (not Midnight). "We'll take care of those cannons. Just make sure that cruiser gets down here. We're running out of time!" Anakin half screamed into his wrist comm.

"I'm going to go help my people, I'll see if I can buy us some time!" Ahsoka yelled running down the opposite hallway from Anakin. "Good luck!" the young Jedi general yelled back.

"A Jedi!" a Zygerrian slaver exclaimed before he was stabbed by Anakin. He jumped into the seat and shot the turret guns. "You're all clear, Master Plo Bring the cruiser down to the landing pad." Anakin reported. "Cancel that order, Master! There's no way to get the people out of the holding cell and up to the landing platform. But I have an idea. We need to have the cruiser move in underneath the facility. We can escape onto the ship if Admiral Coburn can get in close enough," Ahsoka said, looking down at the abyss. "I want the men topside with rocket packs and cable guns. Move it!" the Admiral ordered flying underneath the facility.

"Yes, sir!"

"Come now, Master Kenobi, I know a Jedi won't kill an unarmed man!" the head slaver said smugly. Obi Wan couldn't kill him because he was unarmed. Meanwhile on the other side of the room Rex and Midnight were fighting a group of slavers. The last one fell and midnight nodded. Rex threw the spear in his hand right at the leader's heart and said,

"I'm no Jedi."

Midnight smiled and they ran to the holding cells.

"Okay, everyone, get ready. We'll have to go in groups!" Ahsoka yelled to the Togrutans. The clone troopers shot cables on the ceiling for the people to to side down but one missed and was easily caught by Ahsoka.

Midnight and Rex found themselves at the holding cell but the closest cable was too far away for Rex to jump to. "Rex jump" Midnight yelled over the noise of the cruiser. "I can't make it. It's too far." Rex shouted back. "Trust me," Midnight said in a low whisper. He nodded and jumped.

Midnight jumped right after him and caught the cable. Rex had gotten about halfway before he started falling downwards. Midnight jumped off the cable and hit the ground just in time for her to catch Rex.

"Midnight how- bu- your arm" he said as she set him on the ground. "I'm fine," she smiled. They ran into the ship as Anakin shouted to everyone, "That's everyone. We have to go. The facility's breaking up!" "Okay, Master Plo, the cruiser is clear!" Obi said into the ship's comm. "All gunships, fire!" Plo said. The missiles flew into the supports of the facility and exploded. The whole thing was sent crashing into the abyss below. When they were in hyperspace the Governor said, "I thank you, the Jedi, and the Republic for saving our lives."

"Ahsoka is the real hero. Without her creativity, I don't think we would've gotten your people to safety," Anakin gestured to Ahsoka. "Indeed. Padawan Tano, might I have a word in private?" the old Togruta asked. "Of course." she replied, leaving the other Jedi to talk with the others.

"Ahsoka, you have done a great deed for your people today," he said with a hint of sadness in his voice. "You're sad?" she stated. "Well, you and the Jedi have done your best, but I do not think our people will recover from this horror anytime soon," he said, slumping his shoulders slightly. "I understand, but in the end, surviving this will only strengthen the people," Ahsoka reassured him.

"Perhaps, and perhaps the people of Kiros will also join the Republic," he said looking down at her with a smile.

"I think that's a wise choice, Governor."
