Blew It

Oli's Journal-

'Nothing much has happened in the past week.

Well, besides me stealing another journal and ink to write.

Gem sent a letter to her brother telling him that she was going to help us.

Give us freedom.

But she can't do much without her wand and potions.

Tom's been trying to figure out how to brew potions with Gem's books since he has access to them, but it's really confusing.

Gem tries to explain, but she can't.

The only thing he has been doing is giving us healing potions instead of weakness potions after Everett comes.

Yeah, he's coming more often now. Ever since he had that little talk with Gem he's been visiting and trying to get the truth out of her.

She won't talk though.

That causes him to rage and hit her.

He almost killed her once, but Tom stopped him.

Tom ended up giving her healing potions that she had brought with her in her bag, but we're running out.

He has to learn how to brew potions or else we're screwed.

Everett once caught Tom trying to use Gem's wand once and Tom was punished.

We were left with a different guard that night.
But Tom's back.

He just has to be extremely careful.

Everett seems to be returning more often now.

He keeps talking about how much better it would be if he had some magic.

He once tried to use Gem's wand, but it backfired and ended up hurting him, so he had to leave.

I assumed it was Gem's doing but she says she can't do magic without the wand, so we don't really know what happened.

"I guess he tried to do such a powerful spell without really knowing how to and it backfired. But I don't know how he knew the powerful spell." Gem said.

She seems to be pondering to herself and whenever me and Tom try to help her, she just says she's fine.

I think she's worried about her brother.

She keeps pacing around and muttering to herself.

If we ask what's wrong, she just says she's tired.

I feel like there's something else that I don't know but Gem won't say.

But I hear her at night.

I hear her talking to herself in her sleep.

I heard her once mutter the name 'fWhip,'
which I assume is her brother, and then she muttered the name 'Everett'.

I don't know why.

Gem also wants to go talk to Trissa more and more.

But she can't.

She has to have special permission to do that.

But Tom can.

I think Tom is going to talk to Trissa for Gem, but Gem won't tell us why she wants to.
