back to your pov!! hehe
Kyle had his arms wrapped around me and I knew I should've felt comfortable, but I didn't. He's been acting so weird lately. It's as if our 'honey-moon phase' only lasted the first two months of our relationship. He's been distant yet overprotective of me. He rarely messages me and the only time we hang out anymore is with his friends, where he ignores us regardless.
I'm struggling to keep myself from pushing his arms off of me. They seem so foreign. Unnatural. I almost despised it. I kept tossing and turning. I tried my best to sleep but I began to grow agitated at Kyle's periodical snoring. I scooted out of bed and sat on the floor. That's when I heard soft taps on the window.
"Wah!" I yelled a little too loud when I saw a figure peeping into the window. Kyle snorted but I could tell he was still asleep. The figure pulled it's hood down to reveal soft blonde hair and freckles. I sighed in relief and went to open the window.
"Kenny, what the hell are you doing here?"
"I'm sorry, I had to see you. And I need to talk to you,"
I got kind of nervous. Ken and I have gotten quite close the past few months.
"What is it?" I asked, leaning towards him. Doing so made me realize he was on a very tall wooden ladder. I shuttered. That seems terrifying.
"I need to talk to you about Kyle. I'm not . . . I'm not sure he truly loves you,"
I looked down before responding, "I know. I knew. I've known. I just haven't wanted to admit it,"
"You know?"
"Yeah. He's just been acting different. And I've always known we'd never be anything more than friends. It's okay, Ken,"
Relief and sadness were shining through his eyes, "Are you going to.. break up with him?"
"I have to," my voice was barely anything more than a whisper.
Kenny nodded in understanding and grabbed my hand.
"Can you take me home, Kenny? I don't think I want to be here anymore,"
"Are you sure you want to come down? The ladder is really unsturdy," the boy questioned, not wanting me to hurt myself at his expense.
I simply scoffed, it's difficult to say no to seeing such a gorgeous man. "Shut it McCormick, I'm coming down out of my own free will. I've been waiting to spend time with you all day."
"Yes, ma'am," He said, beginning to head down the ladder. I shut the window as I climbed aboard the first jagged step. In suit, Ken and I climbed down and made it to the ground. He shorted the ladder to it's smallest mode and we began walking. I was sort of leading him. My dad's house wasn't very far away, though. As we began walking across the grass, our hands found their way to each other's grasp. It was supposed to be friendly, but it seemed almost more than that. Stop. Kenny won't be your rebound.
We talked a little bit, but most of the walk was quiet. Once we got to my front door, I pulled my spare key out of my pocket and turned towards Ken. "Thank you for bringing me back home. Goodnight,"
Kenny smiled and for a second I thought he might kiss me. He raised his hand up to pat my shoulder. "Goodnight, (Y/n),"
I unlocked the door and watched Kenny walk away from my house. I remained as quiet as I possibly could as I made my way to my bedroom. I collapsed on my bed and finally was able to fall asleep comfortably.
