"Oh my god, is this the last of it?" my dad grumbled out as he lugged another box into the empty living room.
"Yes, dad," I giggled, setting down a box next to the one he just placed down, "Thank you for helping us move,"
"I can't believe my baby girl is moving out. You know, it isn't too late to say with me,"
"I know, papa. But it's time, I'm ready,"
He frowned with tears in his eyes as he hugged me tightly, "I love you, okay?"
"I love you, too. With my whole heart,"
Our precious moment was interrupted, "Hey babe? A little help?"
I let go of my dad and turned around, bursting out with laughter as I saw that Clyde was pinned in the hallway against a mattress and the wall.
"Don't laugh!"
"I'm not! I'm coming, I'm coming!"
"There better not be a ton of that while you guys are here alone," my dad chimed, crossing his arms.
"Oh my god! Dad!"
"I'm just saying,"
After getting Clyde unstuck from the hallway, putting stuff away was pretty easy. But it isn't like we had much in the first place. Dishes were in the cabinets, silverware was in the drawers, furniture was set up, our bed was made, and our shower supplies were set in their designated spots. The only things we didn't have enough time to put away were our clothes and a few random decorations, which meant we didn't have pajamas for tonight unless we wished to search in each individual box for a single set of pj's. But I couldn't tell my dad that.
"Bye dad!" I shouted as he hopped into his truck outside our new apartment. He waved at me and smiled, then puttered away.
As I shut the door and all of our blinds for the night, I slowly began taking off layers of my clothing. Not in a sexual way, just as in a preparation for sleep. Though clearly Clyde did not get the memo and was extremely surprised when he found his girlfriend walking around in her bra and underwear while he was brushing his teeth.
He choked on his toothbrush and was forced to spit out all of the toothpaste in his mouth. "Jeez, I get that we're all alone now but your dad just left,"
"What? I'm getting ready for bed, silly," I nudged him with my elbow as I grabbed my own toothbrush and began brushing my teeth as well. Clyde just nodded and tried his best to avoid looking at me, making sure he didn't make me feel uncomfortable. After I finished, I left him alone in the bathroom to take his own clothes off. I sat on our bed and stripped off my uncomfortable bra, threw it into a laundry hamper, and snuggled into my cold bed. Clyde and I have never slept in the same bed together so I'm a bit nervous. Especially since we're both going to be pretty much naked.
Not very long after, Clyde came out in nothing but his boxers and slid into bed.
"Hey Clyde?"
"Yes, honey?" Clyde snuggled closer to me a bit, turning so that his brown hair fell to the side and his blue eyes met mine.
"Isn't it crazy that we have our own place? It still doesn't feel real," I breathed out, laying flat on my back and staring at the ceiling.
"I suppose it is, but as long as I'm with you, I'm alright,"
