Renn's Pov
After the cottage was properly warded. Lucius urged me back into it so we could have our conversation.
Tippy had candles lit around the living room and kitchen when we walked in and most of the dust was cleared up.
"Tippy, clean the bedroom and put proper pillows and linens on the bed and then you are dismissed of your duties for the night. Everything can be put away tomorrow during daylight." Lucius stated as the small elf who was more than willing to help conjured a floating candle that followed her into the room.
As I watched her tiny frame disappear into the bedroom and shut the door I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and went to sit on the worn in couch.
Lucius took callous steps all the way to the recliner while his cane tapped on the wooden floor causing causing an echo throughout the whole space.
Once he was seated he set his cane to the side of the chair and picked what looked like lint or dust off of his robes.
I cleared my throat to try and get him to start the conversation but he just looked up briefly and shot me a glare while then turning his attention back to picking at his robes.
I let out a huff of air in annoyance and slumped back into the couch. I brought my attention up towards the ceiling and started counting the hopefully abandoned spider webs that lined the wooden beams. Gross.
"It really isn't proper for young witches to huff and puff like that. Were you never taught any manners as a child ?" Lucius drawled out haughtily while arching one of his annoyingly perfect eyebrows at me.
It took everything in me to not retort back sarcastically or roll my eyes but I minded my attitude not wanting to cause another argument.
"I was taught manners sir and I apologize for my impatience but you said you would tell me why we had to come here and truthfully my anxiety is getting the better of me right now."
Lucius brought his still gloved hand to his face while closing his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose in clear annoyance. "Very well then pet... what would you like to know ?"
"Well for starters, why did we have to leave for the safety of the baby ?"
Lucius opened his eyes and stiffened at my question which already made me not like where this conversation was heading.
"The Dark Lord had certain sinister plans involving the child. I really don't think it's necessary to tell you what those were." He stated while shifting slightly in the chair.
His face remained stoic and cold as usual but I could tell the topic made him uncomfortable.
"Well since I'm carrying this child I think I have a right to know what those plans were and-"
-"Trust me Renn you really do not wish to know, it will just add to your stress, of which I don't want to deal with." He sneered at me thinking that was going to stop me from pushing the topic.
"Okay well at this point I'm going to be anxious and stressed out either way so you might as well just tell me."
His lip curled upwards but he gave in nonetheless.
