The Pro's & Con's Of Being A Girl Dad

Renn's Pov

"Are you happy then ?" Draco asked curiously as my smile started to fade at my thoughts of Lucius' reaction to this new development.

"Hmm ?' I answered while turning my head to him, 'oh yes I am very happy. I was hoping that it would be a girl." My hands continued to rub over the spot where the pink light had been.

"I hope she looks like you, Yaxley isn't exactly the most attractive person with the best genetics." Draco commented snidely while putting the book down and coming to sit beside me on the couch.

I shot him an annoyed look, "don't start Draco, no matter what she looks like we both know she's going to be beautiful." I said proudly while thinking about the fact that whether she looked like me or like Lucius that would be the truth.

He rolled his eyes but nodded his head in agreement anyways. "Well let's hope she doesn't develop your smart mouth."

I started giggling at his words. "If she's around you enough let's hope she doesn't turn into a spoiled brat or worse a ferret." Draco glared at me and clenched his jaw at my words which caused me to laugh harder. I knew he hated what Barty Crouch jr. disguised as professor Moody did to him in fourth year. I had to listen to him go on and on about it for weeks. I always found it odd that he never told Lucius about it. Looking back on it now it was probably because he was too embarrassed.

Thinking of Lucius and Draco's relationship brought back the dread of having to tell him about this baby being a girl.

Draco noticed my laughing cease and my smile fade rather quickly once more but didn't comment on it. Instead he just wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me into a side hug with him.

"I'm going to go read for a while. I just need some time to process this." I said while breaking the hug and starting to push myself off of the couch.

"Okay. I won't say anything to my father by the way. You can tell him the gender if you want to, though, it isn't really any of his business." He grabbed my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze before letting it go.

I internally cringed at his words. It was his business though.

I nodded my head in gratitude and started walking along the cold wooden floors back to my room.

Hours later there was a knock on my door pulling me out of the trance I had been in while reading a muggle novel. The ones I took from the cottage were surprisingly really good reads.

"Come in." I called out to the person on the other side.

I was met with the intense stare of Lucius as he carefully entered the room and closed the door behind him.

After locking the door and performing a silencing spell he turned his full attention back to me.

"I haven't seen you all day. I thought I told you that I did not want you confining yourself to your chambers anymore." He spoke pointedly as he set his cane against the side of my dresser.

"You did say that." I said apprehensively.

He lifted a pale brow at me, "and the reason you are deliberately disobeying me then ?"

"I wanted to be alone for a while. I didn't think that was an order, I thought it was more of a suggestion." Lucius jaw clenched as he tsk'd at me. "You know I only give orders not suggestions. Why are you feigning ignorance ? It is not a good look on you Renn."

"Lucius I'm pregnant did you not think about the fact that I might just not be feeling well ?"

His jaw unclenched momentarily and a look of worry flashed through his eyes, "are you not feeling well then ?"
