It takes me almost an hour to catch back up with the others. Traversing across the broken ruins of old Mondstadt took longer than I expected it to. I heard Paimon's voice before I saw the others. Going to show just how loud Paimon can be sometimes.

"Look! It's (Y/N)!" Paimon exclaimed. Lumine rushed over, nearly knocking me back from the force of her hug.

"I'm so happy that you're safe..." She muttered into my chest. I gazed at her in shock, before sighing and softly smiling down at her.

"It was nothing I couldn't handle." I stated confidently. Jean and Venti approached.

"It gladdens me to see you safe, (Y/N). We'd be lying if I said we weren't slightly worried for you once you ran through that Abyss Portal, or whatever it was. What happened to you on the other side?" Jean asked. I couldn't find it in me to meet their gazes.

"It was nothing but a trap. The Abyss seems to want to take me out now that I refuse to work with them. They tried swaying me to their side once more. However, after I refused, they attacked me. I took care of them before they could cause us anymore issues." I lied. Diluc's gaze burned into me. Was it just me, or did his gaze burn more than usual? Does he suspect that I'm lying? Who am I kidding. It's Diluc, of course he suspects something. I gazed over at Lumine beside me.

"Actually... Once this is all done and dealt with. I'd like to join Lumine as a traveling companion." Lumine's eyes widened in shock. Paimon voiced the shock Lumine was feeling for her.

"Wait, seriously?! Is that even allowed?" She asks. I turned my gaze over to Jean.

"It all depends on what Jean says. I want to join Lumine because I can tell that she's destined for something in this world and I want to help her find her brother. I know from my visions that there are events that will happen in the future that center around Lumine and I want to be as much help as I possibly can. There are certain events that we can possibly even forestall if I go with her." Jean frowned, a conflicted expression written all over her face.

"I won't stop you, (Y/N). Though you are the Oracle Knight, you have always been free to leave and explore the rest of the world Teyvat has to offer. Just know that, Mondstadt will forever have a place for you." It didn't seem like those were the words Jean had wanted to say. I gave her a small smile.

"I know, Jean. Mondstadt will forever be my home. No matter how far I'll be, I'll always return home. It doesn't matter if it takes days, months, even years." Diluc looked off to the side.

"So it seems it's your turn now to leave the nest." I cracked a smile at the scarlet-haired male.

"So it seems. I have to figure out the reason behind my dreams. And I fully believe that going with Lumine and Paimon will help me find the answers I seek... And maybe I'll even figure out what happened to my parents." It's odd. Going one day saying goodbye to your parents to the next being told that they're missing. How did two grown adults go missing in the timeframe of a single night? What was the commission that they did that was so dangerous that they left nothing behind? I've tried asking Katheryne once about the commission that they took on together. She tried searching in the records, yet she found nothing. Not a single note about the commission that they took. It was like they just vanished into the night. So many theories raced through my head that I nearly grew sick just thinking about them. The dark thoughts one can think up can be terrifying sometimes. Venti notices the dark expression growing on my face. He turns the conversation onto a lighter note.

"I'm thinking about turning these adventures into songs after we're done..." He states, drawing our attention over to him. A song, huh? Lumine cracks a smile and laughs, joining him on the subject and successfully changing the topic at hand.
