Paimon yawns loudly in my ear as she hovers between Lumine and myself.
"Man, Paimon wouldn't have guessed that scaling two mountains in a single day could be so tiring. Paimon's exhausted!" I fought my own yawn. Paimon did have a point. Meeting with Cloud Retainer and Mountain Shaper had certainly been eventful. From rescuing people from living amber to traversing an adepti's domain... it's a good thing the last adeptus can be found at Wangshu Inn. We'll be able to take a rest at the inn and return to the harbor by morning.
"Oh, this seems to be Wangshu Inn. Compared to Jueyun Karst this place seems basic. Are we really gonna find an adeptus here? Let's take a look. Paimon reckons he'll be on the balcony. Heh, doubt we're going to find him in the kitchen." Though I bet Paimon wishes we would. I stop, remembering something.
"Actually, we may end up having better luck if we bring him an offering." I mention and Lumine raises a brow.
"An offering? What could we even offer to an adeptus?" She asks me. I only grin and proceed to the kitchen.
"Excuse me, we'd like an Almond To-" The chef cuts me off before I can even get the words out of my mouth.
"Scram!" Paimon blinks in shock.
"Whoa, this chef guy's service is about as good as that Wagner guy's back in Mondstadt." I couldn't help the chuckle that escaped from me. She's not wrong, however Wagner doesn't have supernatural guests hanging around him.
"I can take care of your ghost problem, sir. Would you make us some Almond Tofu if I helped?" I asked him.
"S-so there really is a ghost!? W-wait, you said you'll help? And you only want some Almond Tofu? Alright, deal! Just hurry!" He exclaimed, practically running past us. Paimon glared questionably over at me.
"Did you say ghosts? Paimon wants no part in this!" She exclaimed. I laughed and shrugged.
"She's harmless, really. Just a child who passed before her time and is unable to pass on into the afterlife. I'm sure I can probably ask her to go play somewhere else instead of scaring the chef here. Trust me, this is the easiest solution. I don't know how to make Almond Tofu and I'm pretty positive Lumine doesn't either." I explained. Paimon frowned in confusion.
"Why do we need Almond Tofu in the first place? What, were you feeling hungry or something?" She asked, and I shook my head with a chuckle.
"Nope! The Almond Tofu will be our offering to the adeptus. He'll be more willing to speak with us if we bring him some." Paimon huffed, glancing over at Lumine.
"Alright Traveler. In the name of high-quality Almond Tofu, we need to go check this kitchen out." Lumine hid her laughter behind her hand as Paimon flew head first into the kitchen.
