Upon reaching Liyue Harbor, I wandered around for a bit. The walk back had cleared my head a little and I felt like I wasn't as upset as I was before. If I'd stayed any longer with Morax, I feel as if I would have revealed him to Lumine and Paimon way too soon. The weight of the forged Sigil could still be felt in my pocket.
"He wants the best for his people- yet he's willing to throw them into the deep end to learn how to swim. I can't believe it..." I glared at the ground before me, starting to feel the anger return. I groaned, shaking and rubbing my forehead with the palm of my hand.
"This really complicates things for me..." I bemoaned. If I'm not able to stop Childe's plans, would he intervene? He would, right? Because even though he wants his people to thrive without him, he still would stop at nothing to save them the moment things would become too much.
"Yet, even still... Why would you even want to risk it? The price to pay isn't worth the potential cost in the lives of those in the harbor." I muttered to myself. I glanced around, watching as the people of Liyue go about their lives. Unaware of what was to come in the near future. A voice calls out to me from nearby.
"Is that (Y/N) I spy?" A loud, boisterous laugh follows suit as I glance in their direction. I almost lose my balance as an arm is swung around my neck.
"Hello Beidou, it's good to see you again." I'm glad she's here. She'll probably be able to help settle these god awful thoughts running through my mind. Beidou grins down at me.
"I heard you and your friend got to meet with Ningguang. So, how'd it go?" She asks me.
"It went well. Ningguang was a charitable host for my friends and I. I have a feeling I'll probably be meeting her again soon." Beidou raises her visible brow.
"Oh? Is it a prophetic feeling or just an intuition?" Prophetic or intuition...
"I'd have to say both without giving too much away. Anyways, I see Kazuha isn't with you this time." I wouldn't have minded speaking with the Inazuman wanderer again. He was certainly an interesting person. Beidou smirked playfully.
"Oh? Interested in him or something?" I gaped at her and shook my head.
"Not in the way you're thinking!" I exclaimed quickly, cheeks starting to feel warm for some reason. She laughed, her loud laughter filling the air around us.
"I'm kidding! I'll be sure to let him know you said hello when I see him back on the boat." Something about this interaction reminded me of Venti when he was teasing me in Diluc's Tavern. I really do miss him and the others... Beidou noticed the sudden shift in my mood. She places a hand on my shoulder.
"Is everything okay? You seemed down just now." She's sharp, being able to detect my emotions like this. I gave her a small smile.
"Yeah, I'm okay. I was just thinking about my friends back in Mondstadt. I left kind of suddenly, there's plenty of people I wasn't able to say goodbye to. But... I know I'll see them all again eventually." I explained to her. Beidou gave me a gentle smile, patting my shoulder comfortingly.
"I'm sure you will. You're with that Traveler, so you're certain to meet tons of people on this journey of yours-" A sudden commotion cuts Beidou off. We share a look before taking off to investigate. The Millelith are rushing around, some halting Fatui members from going anywhere.
"What is going on?" I ask, not really aimed towards anyone in particular. Beidou hums in concern.
"It seems as though the Millelith are at odds with the Fatui..." Beidou responded to my question. I walked up to a Millelith member who wasn't doing anything at the moment.
