Mikaelson Mansion

Late Afternoon

"Hi Lucy," Rebekah said politely, dumping her backpack, cheerleading stuff, and purse on the kitchen floor. Bonnie had driven Rebekah home after getting the message from Lucy to stop by the mansion.

Lucy smiled and greeted the girls.

A velvet cloth dabbled with shiny dark blue and black stones was laid out. Lucy was sorting through them carefully. She was looking at certain stones under a 10x jeweler's loupe.

"Hey guys, hope you didn't get too worn out from practice. I'm just going through this black kyanite. I've never seen it before. It's so rare."

"Hey cuz," Bonnie said. "So looks like we are going to be busy..."

Lucy said, "You can say that again. There's some kind of salad in the frig. Not sure what it is, but it's really good. Get some and then we can go over the spells."

Rebekah dug through the frig.

"Got it. Yes, Elijah is not a bad cook. Where is everyone?" Rebekah said, taking out a wooden bowl and some plates.

"Ah, Damon, Klaus, and Enzo are going through magical supplies. They wanted to test some kind of bracelet of obedience on me, but I told them I'd explode their brains. Just a head's up, Bon," Lucy laughed. "I think the kids are messing around with the python. They set it up in the former ballroom which looks like it is turning into...something else. Kol went up to change and never came back down. Aaron was throwing a fit about paint. Wes might be in his room drinking. Not sure."
"Sounds like a typical day around here," Rebekah said, giving Bonnie her salad. "Oh, try this bread, too."

Rebekah put a crusty roll on Bonnie's plate.

"Yeah, after that workout, not worried about carbs," Bonnie said, her mouth full.

Rebekah laughed and got herself some blood. She poured Bonnie and Lucy some water from a pitcher.

"What exactly are you looking for?" Rebekah asked, sitting down at the island.

"Oh, I'm looking for stones that are free from flaws," Lucy said, examining another one under the glass of the loupe.

"Here, I can probably see better," Rebekah offered, shoving a forkful of salad into her mouth. "So no cracks or chips?"

"Yeah, I think so," Lucy said. "We'll have to enchant these tomorrow night under the light of the full moon."

Rebekah leaned over and found three or four stones that looked near flawless to her Original vampire eyes.

"Hey, thanks. That helps," Lucy said gratefully. "We'll also need some silver to craft them into rings that the wolves can wear."

"I thought that silver was toxic to werewolves," Bonnie said, taking a sip of her water.

"That's a myth. I believe Klaus said that werewolves actually heal faster from silver," Lucy said, picking up the old spell book beside her.

"Yes, that's true," Rebekah said quietly. "Is that my mother's grimoire?"

Lucy looked up, saying, "Yes, I believe so."
"I haven't seen that in a very long time," Rebekah said quietly. "May I?"

Lucy nodded and handed Rebekah the old tome.
