After Last Bell

"Tyler put Mr. Hobbs in the hospital?" Stefan asked in shock as he stood at Elena's locker with her and Bonnie at the end of the day.

Elena bit her lip and nodded, "I heard he's suspended, but it had to have been some kind of accident... And Mr. Hobbs isn't coming back anytime soon. Ric had to cover on his planning hour. Do you believe that?"

Elena glanced around to make sure that Caroline wasn't around to heard. She was upset and would be pissed that they were discussing Tyler "behind her back" but luckily she was no where to be found right now.

Bonnie laughed, "Leave it to Ty. I heard that Kol came off as the hero of the day. He's got himself some admirers, that's for sure...I guess he's not bad, if you like that sort of thing."

"How's it going with your cousin, Bonnie?" Stefan inquired, wanting to cut off the discussion about Kol's romantic prospects.

Bonnie shrugged, "It's weird. Lucy is being like super strict about stuff. We used to get in trouble together and now she's the boss. And damned if she isn't really bossy. Dad is thrilled, though. He's going to pay Lucy and help her get on her feet again. She's just so different now, and paranoid. I guess you heard about the car?"

"Damon's car? Yeah," Stefan said, rolling his eyes. "I'm not even allowed to drive, but he has his 'baby' back and his new daddy to boot...Plus, he's now a tribrid so you can imagine what his ego is like!"

Elena chuckled, "Damon's ego is epic on a good day, but you had no business speeding like that. You left the frickin' house without even seeing me and you were still afraid of being late?"

"You don't really know Elijah well, do you?" Stefan complained. "We have to be dressed for dinner at 6 sharp or the world comes to an end. Bonnie, can you do a spell to make someone chill out? Like a lot?"

Bonnie frowned, "Nope. Lucy doesn't want me messing with magic and vampires. You know, same stuff that Grams was against. 'Don't get too involved' and 'It's not witch business.' Yet, she also got kidnapped by the Travelers! Typical."
"It will be okay, Bon," Elena comforted. "Oh, there's April. I'm driving her and Jer home. Ric has a meeting or something. Hey, I think we're going to the Lake House this weekend."

"No!" Bonnie gasped. "Tyler was having that...party. Oh, I guess that is a bust now. The Mayor will probably kill him anyway. I got to get home to before Lucy freaks. See ya."

Bonnie waved and took off leaving Stefan and Elena standing by their lockers. April was now talking to Kol at the other end of the hallway.

"Not sure if that's a good idea," Stefan whispered, eyeing the two.

"Yeah, I'll talk to her. She's way too young for that," Elena said. Then, she looked at Stefan. His blond hair was catching the sun light. "Hey, do me a favor..."
"Anything? You need help with econ again?" Stefan smiled, leaning over. He wanted to reach out and touch her long, dark hair, but that was over now.

"No, well, maybe, but that wasn't what I wanted to say," Elena said nervously. "Make up with Damon, okay? I know he's kinda being an ass but he needs you now. I worry about you, but I also worry about him. This breakup and you leaving just broke him. Please, Stefan? For me."

Stefan leaned against the locker and held his breath a moment, staring at her. Her brown eyes showed love and Stefan wanted to melt into them, but finally he replied.
