Forbes Residence

Lucy dropped off Elena and Bonnie at Caroline's. She was going to do some grocery shopping and then swing by and pick them up after.

"Is it weird that I am nervous?" Bonnie asked, as Lucy pulled away.

"No, Bon. I am kinda nervous also," Elena said gently. "I know she is still Caroline, but will she be different? Who knows?"

But a second later, Caroline bound out of the front desk and greeted her friends with hugs.

"Guy, stop looking at me like that! I'm fine. Really," Caroline said.

"Really, you look, well, amazing," Bonnie gushed.

"Stop. So do you guys. Come in. Mom is still at work, but I want to here everything about the lake," Caroline gushed. "Oh, and wait until you hear the stupid shit Tyler and Matt did..."
Elena smiled and nodded at Bonnie. Caroline was still Caroline.

The girls caught up about what they had missed in Mystic Falls while Caroline made them lunch.

"Will it gross you out if I drink my blood? Stefan says I have to stay on schedule," Caroline reported.

Elena giggled, "Caroline, I went out with two vampires. One of which actually drank my blood. It doesn't gross me out at all."
"What? You never told us this," Bonnie gasped. "Who? Let me guess...Damon!"
"Well, it better have been 'cause Stefan might have turned ripper on her," Caroline said, serving the salads.

Elena cleared her thought. "Oh, he told you about that? Stefan doesn't really like to talk about that much."

Caroline felt heat rise to her face.

"Yeah, well, we have been together non-stop since...you know, Vicki, um, attacked me," Caroline reported. "It seems that I formed a kind of sirebond thingy with him."
"What?" Elena said, putting down her iced tea. "Didn't that happen with Tyler and Klaus?"
"Yeah, but that was different," Caroline said. "I think, but anyway, Stefan said it's normal and should lessen with time."
"Oh yeah, I'm sure it will," Bonnie said, noticing Caroline's tension. "But a toast to you, Caroline. You will be forever beautiful while Elena and I wither into old crones."

"Cheers," Elena said, raising her glass.

Caroline smiled weakly. "Oh, the grilled cheeses are burning!"

She turned and flipped the sandwich sizzling in the pot, grimacing.

"That one will be mine," Caroline said. "Food tastes like crap anyway."

"Sorry, Care. I shouldn't have said that," Bonnie apologized.

"What? No, Bonnie, I don't want things to be weird. I mean, you know I never wanted to look old and stuff. I'm okay, really," Caroline said, sitting back down. "So? Give me the scope about the lake. Anything interesting happen?"

Elena leaned forward and told Caroline about her parents, Uncle John, and even about Damon turning her biomom.

"Isobel? I wonder if my mom knows anything about this," Caroline commented.

Bonnie got up to flip the other sandwich and get more iced tea.

"I bet my mom would, wherever she is," Bonnie commented.

"Yeah, our moms were like best friends," Elena said. "Has your dad said anything recently?"
"Nope," Bonnie reported. "We barely hear from him. It's like now that Lucy moved in, he's even more distant. He got a big raise so that's nice, but who knows when he's coming home again."
"Sorry, Bonnie," Caroline said, eager to change the subject. Talking about her parents always made Bonnie sad and Caroline was also getting depressed. "So, was Enzo a total pig the whole time? That dude is horny as hell. I kind of get it now that I'm a vampire..."
