Chapter 22

The week is painfully slow, and the excitement to finally get the puppy kills me. Nate still hasn't found out, nor has anyone else. Today was finally Christmas Eve, which meant that I was going to get the puppy tonight. But first we had family dinner at the boys apartment and all of the parents were coming to celebrate together. Being the complete Christmas spirit type of person, I took special care with what I was going to wear. I curled my hair perfectly and sat my vanity to do my makeup. I did my foundation first and then covered my eyelid in a soft sparkly pink and added a thin line of eyeliner with some long fake eyelashes. I added a light pink lipstick with some gloss and called it good, moving onto my outfit. When my outfit is on I slide on the small red jacket and pull up my knee high socks and then slip my feet into my black stilettos. I try my best to walk down the stairs quietly, but due to the heels it makes some noise

"Kota?" Nate calls. He comes around the corner and looks me up and down, his jaw dropping

"Like it?" I ask walking towards him. My outfit consist of a strapless felt red dress with buttons, a belt and white fur trim, a small ¾ length jacket, knee high socks and a Santa hat.

"You look gorgeous Lil Mamma" He kisses my lips softly as Cayden runs around the corner

"Oooooooh! Mummy pretty" He says sweetly as he hugs my legs

"She definitely is" Nate confirms picking up Cayden and placing him on his hip. When I look at them both I realise that they are wearing the same thing. Both in khakis with a collared shirt.

"Where's Kaiya?" I ask Nate

"Sleeping" I walk back up the stairs and into her room, seeing her lying on the bed with her blue eyes open

"Hey gorgeous girl" I coo as I pick her up out of her crib, and kiss her cheeks. I place her on the changing table and pick up her little outfit that I had hung off of the drawers. I change her nappy and slip on her bright red body suit and slip on her red tutu over it. When she is fully dressed, I pick her up and she leans onto my shoulder as I walk down the stairs carefully. Nate gets the double pram out and we place the two kids into the pram and leave. Seconds later we arrive at the apartment block and Nate knocks on the door. Kaylan opens the door and immediately pushes her brother out of the way and hugs me. As soon as we walk in we are immediately bombarded by our parents

"I knew she would do this!" Sammy shouts when he sees me

"Well duh" I sass as I do a twirl and my brother laughs, pulling me into a hug

The night goes as planned and it is soon time to leave. As we walk home Kaiya starts to make a bit of a fuss, and I mentally thank god for giving me an excuse to go and get the puppy. When we get home Kaiya still hasn't settled

"I'm gonna take her for a bit of a drive to calm her alright?" he nods and I kiss his cheek, before leaving and placing Kaiya in her car seat. Seeing as though I know how to get there now, it takes me less time to get there, and thankfully Kaiya did fall asleep on the drive over. I get out of the car and carefully carry Kaiya inside with me. I knock on the door lightly and minutes later she opens the door with a friendly smile

"How many kids have you got?" She teases

"Only the two" I laugh with her as she leads me inside

"So I have the 'puppy package' ready and it's all in a box and the crate for the puppy is outside" She tells me as she leads me out the door. Seeing as though it is just a little bit before midnight, all of the puppies are asleep. I carefully pass Kaiya to Jessica and scoop up our little puppy from the box. The puppy stirs a little bit in her sleep but soon settles as I place her inside of the small travel cage. I carry the puppy in her cage out to the car and open up the boot and carefully slide the puppy into it. Jessica passes me the box with the essentials for the puppy and I place that next to the cage.
