•Special Place•when we arrived, i stepped in front of Neteyam stopping him from walking further. "ok close your eyes" i said to him chuckling a little, he obeyed taking his hands and placing them over his already closed eyes.
i stood behind him wrapping my arm around him to keep him from bumping into anything, using my other arm to move some vines that were hanging in the way of the entrance.
"are you ready?" i asked him looking up with a slight smirk on my face. "yeah yeah, just hurry" he said impatiently, i scoffed sarcastically and moved my hand from his side, "okay—open" i whispered out loud.
I watched as Neteyam slowly opened his eyes blinking them a little to get used to the change in setting. he gasps quietly looking around the huge cave that was lit by luminescent plants and a small stream that reflected a blue hue from it. the soft glow from the moons light shined down on us from above where there was a giant hole that showed the beautiful starry night sky.
Neteyam looked over at me as i looked around the elegant cave, his eyes scanning over my body as i looked up at the stars. "it's beautiful; isn't it?" i asked as i looked down at him with a wide smile in my face. my smile dropped slightly at his zoned out expression, he stared at me with his head titled to the side just a little. he blinked a few times after a short pause, breaking out of his thoughts, "yeah" he answered, watching as i chuckled, placing a hand over my mouth.
i walked over to the stream and folded my hands into a bowl form and placed them in the water, i scooped some up and drank it. standing back up, i walked over to Neteyam, and grabbed his hand, leading him to the middle of the cave. as i sat down i gently pulled him with me.
"My grandmother showed me this cave before she passed" i said looking over at him, "you are the first person i brought here, not even Tsireya knows" i told him honestly, "I'm sorry" he said sadly. "don't be, it was 10 years ago" i said to him smiling slightly "why show me?" he asked me looking around the cave.
"I don't know— something about you knowing just felt right" i said looking down at my hands that were folded together. "thank you" Neteyam said looking at me, his voice soft and gentle, but his expression was serious. "for what?" i asked him confused as to why he was thanking me. "for everything" he told me quietly. i smiled over at him chuckling at his flushed face, trying to hide my rosy cheeks.
we spent the whole night talking about our lives, and getting to know each other better. its only been a couple months but i feel like i've known Neteyam my while life. he was truly something special and i was just glad to have him.

The next day, i woke up with to a strong arm wrapped protectively over my waist. i turned my head back slowly and saw it was Neteyams arm. I felt water droplets fall onto my face and flinched a little by the unexpected water that sprinkled from the caves top opening. i felt Neteyam starting to move behind me a little and before i knew it, he was opening his eyes, waking up.
i chuckled quietly as Neteyam slowly woke up, still not realizing the position he's in. "good morning sleepy head" I said to him smiling brightly. he blinked his eyes a few times, looking at me confused before looking down at our close bodies, and his arm wrapped tightly over my waist.
