The feel of my hair being tucked behind my ear awakens me and as soon as I open my eyes, I have my head on Joe's chest. I can feel his heartbeat. "Afternoon baby." I murmur something unintelligible back to him, he chuckles at my sleepiness. "I've missed this, being in your arms when I wake up." He places a soft kiss on my forehead. We stay in this slumber for a while. "How do you fancy meeting Jon and his babies for dinner?" I didn't know he had any kids, but hey, why not?! "Sure, that sounds good Joey. As long as I get to spend some time with you, I'm happy." In one Swift cartoon, he rolls over so he's kneeling above me. He kisses me. "That's what I love to hear. You'll love his kids, they're proper cute. Him and Harley really make a great couple, it's nice to see Jon happy." I wrap my arms around the back of his neck and pull him closer. We're touching skin to skin. "Have we got time for some more loving?" He winks. "Of course, my dear."
This is how we spend the next few hours, entangled with one another.
It's time to get ready for going to Jon's house. Joe said we can just dress casually, and definitely not my best wear.
We're pulling up through the gates at Jon's. It's not a flipping house, it's a farmhouse with a farm! "Wow!" Is all I can muster up, making Joey laugh delightfully. "I wasn't expecting this. My Grandparents had a farm before my Dad was born and the stories I would hear are so endearing and exciting." I feel him gently squeezing my knee. I turn to look at him. "Is this something you'd like one day, having your own farm?" He asks me. "Maybe but it's hard work. I'd miss the town life too." We've just parked up outside the farmhouse. Jon and his partner: Harley come out to welcome us. Jon opens his arms out to give us both a hug each. "Thank you for inviting us. This place is stunning!" I tell him. He thanks us with a beaming smile on his handsome face. "Come on in!" Him and Harley welcome us inside. I'm awestruck at the beauty of this place. It's half modern yet half traditional. I didn't realise that the guys had already made their way into the kitchen/diner when I stopped gawking at my surroundings and it was quiet. "Joey? Hang on, which way do I go?" Harley appears and gestures for me to follow him. "Sorry, I was too busy admiring this beautiful home that you and Jon have." I relax when I see he's happy to wait for me. "There's still a bit of work to do but we're getting there. Thank you though. I think we forget how special it is here until someone new visits." When we get into the dining room, Joey is standing at the table waiting with a chair pulled out next to him. I spot Jon at the stove. "We thought we'd eat first and then we can introduce you to our babies, how does that sound Katee?" Excitedly, I say, "of course, that sounds wonderful. Can't wait to meet your babies, bet they're really cute." All three look like they're trying not to laugh when I glance around at each guy, strange, but oh well.
Harley asks how we met so between us both, we tell our story. "How did you two meet?" Curiously, I ask them."We met through a mutual friend, many years ago." Aww. I love seeing people happy and in love. We chat about different things. Jon and Harley go to get the dinner from the stove. As soon as they walk through the doorway, the room smells divine. They place a couple of steaming hot pots onto the table. "Hmm this looks so good!" My stomach is rumbling like crazy and I can hear Joe's is too. There's meatless chicken parmigiana with garlic and herbed potatoes and lots of different veggies. I had forgotten about Joe telling me that they are vegetarian. "Do you grow these veggies yourself here on the farm? They really do taste fresh." Joe is too busy filling his face, so much that he looks like a hamster which is adorable to watch. It doesn't take long for the four of us to get through all of the food. "We have dessert, or are you both too full? Have some snacks for after the baby introductions." Says Jon. I put my hands on my stomach, rubbing it, somehow as if it would help empty it. Joe is doing the same. Guess it's a natural human instinct.
After a few moments when the food is settled, Jon and Harley lead us the way to outside. I'm a little confused. Why are we going outside? Joe must see the confusion on my face as he whispers in my ear, "they're not babies like you're thinking but still very cute." I raise my brow at him. He takes hold of my hand as we walk through the farm. Jon and Harley are already at a fenced off area. "Meet our beautiful girls!" He points downward and it takes a me a second for me to spot a handful of chickens. "Oh my gosh!! Look at them. That coop, it's fancier than my own home." I kneel down so I can see them better and feel less scary to them. Jon introduces them one by one, not that I'd remember which one was which. Before I even get the chance to speak, Joe informs them that having chickens has been something I've wanted in the future. Aww he must know me really well to know this as I don't remember telling him. "It's written on your face, babe." Ahh okay. I try to talk to them. Harley asks if I'd like to meet some other of their babies, like a kid in a candy store, I tell them yes. "Bye girlies!" I tell the chickens as I stand back up. The guys lead me to another enclosure which, actually looking around, the animals seem to be roaming freely, I hear them before I see them, goats. Jon introduces me to them. They're cute. Cheeky. I can tell they're loving the attention by the way they keep coming up to us.Jon holds up one in his arms. Aww. Can't help but take pictures of these animals! This farm is such a happy place, so full of love. It really shows that families do come in all shapes and forms.
It's starting to get dark so we head back inside for some snacks and drink. There's a knock at the front door but no one goes to answer it, although there's a male voice making his way towards us in the living room. My surprise when it's Jordan who pops his round the door before coming right in. He smiles when he sees me and says hello to all of us. In his hand, he's holding some bottles of wine who he gives to his brother. "I'll go get us some glasses. Everyone wanting some?" I look next to me to Joe thinking about that we're driving. Harley invites us to stay over if we'd like to, and that there's plenty of room. Joe looks back at me to see what I'm thinking, "sure, thank you. That's really kind of you." Joe quietly asks me if I'm okay. Not realising that Jon is back in the room until he is right in front of us, "I think I have one of Joe's shirts here that somehow ended up in my bag from years ago, if you want to borrow it. I'm sure he'd want it back anyway. Bit weird for me to ever wear it, if you get my drift Katee." Haha, "thank you. Joe can have it back tomorrow then." As Jon goes to pour everyone a glass of wine, Joe whispers to me making me blush.
The guys are sharing stories about each other, some are cute, others are crazy or too explicit for fans to ever know. I learn more about the Knight family. The guys tell Jordan about how I thought they were introducing me to their 'human babies' and not animals, much to my embarrassment but hearing them laugh makes it fun.
