The Perfect Match

It's been a few days since I joined Joe and the guys on their tour, and it's been amazing so far. I've been able to forget about what happened and just focus on my relationship with Joe. You really do live in your own little bubble when on tour, it's like you forget real life exists outside of it all but it's kinda nice to escape the reality for some time. Jordan has said he's going into the town centre to buy a few things and said I can join him when I asked him. "I need to get a few bits and I want to get something for Joe." Is what I had said to him. When he asked what it is I'm wanting to get for Joe, I had no answer. He laughed. Now it's time to go with him. Luckily Joe is busy doing some recording for his solo project that he's planning for after this tour so I feel less guilty for not spending this quality time with him, once he finally drags himself out of bed.

"So have you thought any more about what you want to get for the fella then?" Jordan asks as we head towards the store he's walking to. For safety reasons, we had agreed to stay together so Jordan's security guy can keep his tabs on us both, and he's following a few steps behind us. "Something special but personal." I step next to the side so he can browse through a pile of polo shirts. "What about jewellery?" I look up when he makes his suggestion. Hmm that's a good one, why didn't I think of jewellery?! I go through from head to toe on what he wears exactly... no earrings. Necklaces, yes. bracelets, yes. Rings, yes.
Jordan led us into a jewellery store once in there, a lovely lady welcomed in and showed us to the men's section. "Are we looking for engagement rings for you both?" It takes a moment before we both realise what she said and once we do, we started laughing. She looks at us confused. "We're sorry. We're not together. I'm looking for my boyfriend and my friend here is helping me out as he's known him since forever." I glance over at her and see her cheeks turn red. "It's fine, don't worry. I'm planning on helping her to choose the most ugliest thing for our Joey." Her face is a picture! "Jordan! Behave will you. Please excuse him. He thinks he's hilarious when he's not." I smile at her. She looks at him as if she's wanting to say something but is too scared. I nudge him to stop winding her up. "I'm sorry, she's right though. He'd kill me if I let her pick something ugly for him." She smiles, her shoulders relaxing. "Are you from the New Kids on The Block, by any chance?" She mumbles. Ahh so that's what she was wanting to say before. "I am, yeah. Nice to meet you." I watch as he glances at her name badge, and says her name out loud. Then he holds his hand out to for her to shake. "You too. Me and my friend are going to see you guys at the next show." Aww. "You're in for a treat!" I tell her. She gazes at me. "Hang on, you said Joey, do you mean Joey as in Joey McIntyre? Is he your boyfriend?" I beam at her and nod my head. "Oh my, it's so lovely to meet you, Katee. Let me help you find something out for you."

Nearly three quarters of an hour later and I've just paid for the gift. Jordan offered to pay for it but I declined. Upon deciding that we weren't ready to join the others yet, we headed for a cafe for a quick bite to eat. I still needed to buy a few bits for myself.
"Today has been fun, thanks for letting me tag along with you, Jay." I tell him as I sip my drink. "Anytime. Beats being by myself and that dude." He points with his head towards his security guy. I really need to learn their names but I keep forgetting them. "I can't believe that lady in the jewellery store thought we were a couple, it was funny." He pulls a face and places his hand on his chest as he feigns a wounded heart. "You wound me, girl! What's wrong with people thinking that you're in a couple with me?!" I gaze to see he's only playing around. "You're lovely but my heart's set on your handsome bandmate." He pretends to cry, causing me to giggle. "I'm only joking babe. I do love how we can have a laugh and a good ole crack. You make Joe a very happy man and I can tell he makes you a very happy woman. Anyone who tries to get in the way of you two, then they're an absolute idiot. I'm sure he's going to love what you've got him. No doubt about it!" Aww, such a nice guy. "He's lucky to have you. As I'm lucky to have him. And you as my dear friend. It means a lot to know that you don't hate me considering my history with a certain someone. It crossed my mind that you all might think I'm just some gold digger who has already been with one band member and then meets another member. I honestly had no clue that he was in the same band as him. Still can't believe it if I think about it." I zone out in my head. "I don't think that of you, and have never thought of you as a gold digger, Katee. You and Joe met in a random little town away from the rest of us band mates. I'm sure I heard Joe tell me you didn't even know who he was at first. Over the years, Donnie has had a lot of girls but he's never been serious about any of them. He has a big soft heart but he's a dick at times. He always liked the chase, ya know. Joe hasn't really been like that, and from what I know about you, neither are you. You and Joe are the perfect match." I feel myself blushing. "So has anyone got your heart then?"

Deciding to talk about him instead. "Not really. I saw the photos of you and your friends from the press, and on your social media. One of them is kinda cute." I gaze at him trying to work out which of my friends he's talking about. I show him some photos on my phone with my friends. His face lights up when he sees Sophie. "You like Sophie?" When he nods and smiles sheepishly. I tell him how she likes the tall, dark and handsome type of guys. When he tells me what he thinks about her, I make a plan in my head to arrange for my friends to come to join me on tour and set up a blind date for him and Sophie.

For some reason, I find myself hugging Jordan as soon as we step outside. "Thank you again for a nice time, Jordan. I can't wait to surprise Joe with this gift. It's been fun." Then we make our way back to join Joe and the other guys.
