Being A Tourist

The next few weeks keep me busy filming new videos, blogging and seeing loved ones. Me and Joey FaceTime daily and message in between.
Me and the girls arranged a girly get together as it's been a while, we've planned to go out for a meal followed by seeing a movie. They've been asking me to introduce them to Joe so I grab my phone out of my bag and I dial on the FaceTime. He answers after a few rings and is surprised to see me and my friends at first. I melt at the way he charms the girls by smiling and bantering with them. He struggles to remember each girl's names to begin with which makes us all laugh and relax. Then I go out into a corridor where it's quiet and sit myself down. We catch up on each other's day and then he goes a little quiet. Nervously I ask him what's wrong to which he starts telling me... 'I've thinking about something, I'm wondering if you would like to come to Boston and stay with me while me and the boys finish in the studio? I can show you round where I grew up, introduce you to people. What do you think?' Excitedly I say yes without any hesitation. 'Who are you thinking of introducing me to Joe? Will they like me?' He chuckles to himself for a minute... 'Babe, my family and band mates will absolutely love you. They keep mocking me saying I'm making you up!' I try not to laugh, not sure what to say. 'I've shown Jordan a photo of you and says you're pretty. Did you say yes or no?' I nod. 'When are you thinking of me coming Joe? I'll need to sort flights and everything. I can't believe that I get to see you again, I've missed you and your cuddles!' Too busy yawning, I wait for him to answer. It dawns on me that he's actually ahead of me in time, and he's in bed. I feel bad, hoping I haven't woken him up. Oops. But damn... wish I was there next to him and running my fingers through his unruly hair. 'ASAP! What time is it there K?' I tell him and apologise for waking him up. We bring the conversation to an end as we finalise the plans. We blow air kisses at one another before hanging up. I sort of run back to the girls feeling very excited.
'Did we wake him up hun? I forgot to remind you that they're ahead of us, sorry. Hope he wasn't mad?!' I hear Jessie mumble in my ear, slightly inebriated. 'Nope, he had just gotten into bed, he's had a busy day working. Ha ha it's okay, I forgot too! He was just happy to see me. I can't believe that this time next week, I'll be there with him in Boston!!' This catches everyone's attention, hehe!! They all look at me as if I have two heads on instead of the one. Sophie secretly snaps a photo of me gazing at my phone and I see the notification from her on my screen. I look across to her, confused and when I see the photo, I can feel my cheeks burn at how cheesy I look. She says to send it to Joe to show the affect he's having on me, I sigh and send it reluctantly to him.
The rest of the night goes fast and I don't remember much of the film or what it even was, too busy thinking elsewhere.
I'm googling online at different tourist places in Boston, even though I've been once when I was a dancer, we didn't do much touring of the actual city. I'm quite excited and eager to be there. Nikki walls into my room and makes a beeline straight to my wardrobe. 'So what you gonna take to wear when you get there?' I shrug, having no idea. She pulls a smirk... 'so you're gonna walk round naked? I'm sure Joe would be all for that, but you might find yourself getting arrested for indecent exposure.' That made me laugh. 'I really don't know, I can't make my mind up. Apart from the tourist stuff, I don't know what else we'll be doing.' Nikki sighs heavily knowing how indecisive and awkward I can be. 'Pick some every day wear, and some sexy stuff. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!' I wander over to where she is and look through my clothes.
The next few days consist of me getting everything ready and making sure all of my work is completed so that I can relax once I'm in Boston. Between me, Joey and Nikki, we've decided to ask Nikki to come along with me. There will be times when he has to work and I'll be bored on my own, in a big city. She too is excited as I am. The two of us are going to have a road trip during our journey to Boston, one being that I have a fear of flying and two being we just want to explore as we travel across the country. It's all working out nicely as Joe has a heavy work load right now so by the time we get there, he'll finally have a day off.
Our first stop that we are heading for is Reno, Nevada. We plan to have a little gamble in one of the casinos there, and hopefully it'll help pay towards the road trip too, if we win. Our hotel is nothing special but it's nice and clean. The beds are comfortable enough to sleep in and we hope to have a good day of travelling ahead of us. In the casino that we venture in, we part with only a little bit of money and thankfully we get double what we better with back. I'm not too sure if it's first time luck or what but I'm happy. Both of us are ready to get to sleep by the time we get back to the hotel.
During the next few days, we're spent mostly on the road and sleeping at hotels along the way. We did plan on stopping at a few different places rather than just travelling but we found to be more excited to get to Boston so that's what we're doing instead. The sooner I get to be in Joey's arms the better and happier I'll be but I'm loving the quality time that I'm getting to spend with my best friend.
Exhausted, Boston is finally in sight and it's felt like forever since we left our apartment! I phone Joe to let him know that we've arrived at the bus depot and we're just going to go to find something to eat nearby. He suggests us going to the pizza restaurant just down the road and he'll meet us there. So we grab our luggage and make our way. We pick a seat in the corner where we place our stuff and look at the menu. My feet are hurting so Nikki goes to order at the counter. Our pizzas come pretty quickly and not realising how hungry we were, it doesn't take us long to nearly finish them off and we ask them to box whatever's left up so we can take back to Joey's. I'm sitting facing the door and it takes me a minute or two to actually acknowledge him walking towards us, I stand up and walk to him as I wrap my arms around him.
'I've missed you so much but I'm too excited to think sad thoughts!!' I tell him as I embrace him being so close to me again. 'I'm glad you're here and I can show you my life here. Missed you like crazy Katee!! Hey Nikki, sorry I got distracted by this one to say hello.' I giggle and sit back down. Joe goes to order himself a drink. Chatter flows easily once were in Joe's car as he drives us to his place. I can't help but be drawn to the beautiful city that is Boston.
As soon as Joe pulls up to the drive outside his house, I'm mesmerised by the beauty of the building. Definitely much grander than I expected. It has lots of small windows that have shutters. I'd say it's a Georgian style home with its panelled walls and small slim windows. Joe comes to stand next to me, I only realise he's there when I feel him circling at the base of my spine and I glance at him, smiling. 'I'll show you our room and Nikki's room then you can both settle in while I get us all drinks. Just follow me babe.'

Over the next day or two, we hang out at Joey's and sightseeing around Boston. It's a beautiful city. The drivers are a little crazy... now I understand why they get called Massholes!! Ha ha!! Joey took us on the Freedom Trail Tour which was interesting and made better by the warm weather. I liked learning more about the Colonial history and revolutionary eras. When I studied history at school for my exams, we did the industrial revolution and I actually loved it so you can understand why I may have liked this tour. I've always been fascinated with historical buildings such as state homes etc. The Parkman Bandstand stands out to me in Boston Common which is very pretty park. Then he took us downtown where we could see The John Hancock Tower. Apparently it's the tallest building in Boston and I can see why, it made me feel queasy looking up at it when we were stood outside it. As soon as we got to the public library, I dragged both Joey and Nikki inside. Such a beautiful building, with the renaissance style architecture. Stunning and it's so big!
In the evening, we relax in front of the telly and a takeout from a local pizza place. It was nice to see my best friend and Joey getting along and getting to know one another. Nikki goes off to bed leaving me and Joey talking. 'Katee, I think things are going really well between us and I was wondering if you were wanting to take it to the next step?' I look at him, not quite knowing what he's meaning, I fidget. 'I see me and you going quite far and hopefully lasting a long time, would you be my girlfriend?' Without thinking, I nod and hurl myself at him. 'Yes of course I will!' We end up spending the rest of the night making love to one another.
