I'm afraid of it. Coming out of the metaphorical closet, I mean. But honestly, who wouldn't be? Coming out, for me, meant that I had to tell my extremely strict Catholic mother, my soccer team finds out, my friends find out... the bullies find out. Next thing you know, BOOM! I just set my life dial from PERFECT to COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. And my life was just getting started. So why ruin that?

The guy I had a major crush on was stalking me.
I didn't know why and honestly I was kinda freaked out by it.
I've seen him "casually" walk by my window, staring at me in the halls. And I'm pretty sure he was going to beat me up for something. However, I'm pretty sure that's stalking. If not, then I don't know what is.
"He's doing it again." My friend, Skylar, whispered. I nodded, "Why?"
"Maybe he's gonna corner me and kill me for staring at his girlfriend's ass." I joked.
In all honestly, I would never glance at a girl, let alone stare at one the way I do him.
"Hm. But you haven't looked at a girl forever. Are you sure you're not gay?" I laughed fakely.
"Me? Gay? Ha. I'm straight as a ruler."
"Awesome man. Listen, I gotta go." She hugged me and left.
"Later." I called after him. I began walking when Joey Sterling walked over to me and put his arms around my shoulders.
Joey Sterling was the out and proud gay guy of the school who could persuade anyone, male or female/straight or not, to fall for him.
"What do you want, Sterling?" I spat.
"Ow. That stung. I just wanted you to know that we need to have a talk. Like now." Uh oh. He leaned closer to me, so close that his lips brushed my earlobe. "Ruler's break." He whispered, causing me to internally freak out.
If he knew, who else did??
But instead of pushing him away, I willingly followed him, wondering what he meant by that... although I think I could have guessed.
"So what do you mean by 'ruler's break'?" I asked once he shoved me into a closet. The blonde bastard just smirked at me.
"Oh drop it. I know you're gay. The ruler's been long gone, there's no ruler to break."
I scoffed." No way. I'm not a homo."
"Hey! That's strike one! Insulting homosexuals when you are in fact homosexual is just a big no no." I rolled my eyes, "News flash, bitch. It's time to cartwheel out of the closet. Embrace who you are!"
"I can't!" I yelled at him. Joey hardly blinked. But he did look a little offended, "I'm sorry. I just can't."
"Well why the hell not. There's a whole community of us that are going through the same thing. We know what you're going through and we've got pointers to help you out."
"I just don't think it's a good idea Joey."
"Fine. I'll stay out of it. For now. But staying in the closet isn't good for your mental stability. Not to mention the urges and emotions. It's like trying to quit heroine. It's gonna be messy."
"I'm about as mentally stable as you are right now and I've been in the closet for a while. I can do this." I shouted.
His smirk returned to his face.
"Sure you can, cutie." He blew me a kiss and disappeared out of the closet.
I slid down onto the floor and cursed. If he knew, imagine who else did.
