Lukas
DAY ONE-You'll wake up to the biggest shock of your life
It was too early to wake up.
The sun shone in my window and hit my eyes just right, and oh my fucking god, it burned like a mofo.
"Lukas. Lukas! LUKAS! Get up." I heard Sam's voice whisper right next to my face. I opened my eyes and saw his stupid blonde head right in front of my face.
"Holy shit, Sam! What are you doing?" I yelled, jumping out of bed. I fell onto the floor and rolled over onto my bare back.
"Dad said to wake you up. I did my duties. And good-bye."
"Wait, you're leaving? Where are you going?" I stood up and slipped a shirt on, walking over to him. Sam looked at me with sad eyes.
"I'm going to Cloverfield Academy. I thought dad told you?" I shook my head, suddenly confused. I hated being confused.
"No. No he didn't. Why? I thought you liked JE?" Sam shook his head this time.
"I can't be there anymore. You'll see me every weekend, I promise. Cloverfield sounds like a great school and from what I saw, it's pretty amazing." He gave me one last hug and ran out of the room.
I slid a pair of jeans on and stepped into my Converse before running out of the room.
"Sam!" I called, coming to a stop in the living room.
My dad stood near the door and shut it.
"He just left. He'll be back Saturday Morning." He said. I shrugged and slumped into the kitchen chair, pouring myself a bowl of Fruit Loops. "Hurry up. I have arranged for you to get a ride to school today."
"Dad, I can do that myself. I'm not a kid." He ruffled my barely-there hair and laughed.
"Of course you're not, son." There was a knock at the door and I dropped my spoon. "Can you get that?"
"Sure." I mumbled, walking over slowly and opening the door. I opened it and saw someone with their back turned, yelling at someone in the car. The girl (yes, it was a girl, sorry I didn't mention it before) turned around and I instantly recognized her as Skylar Hudson.
"Hello. Your chariot awaits." She murmured. I gaped at her.
"Dad!" I called behind me. When I turned back around, a guy was walking over to my front door (the guy in the car) and he stood behind Skylar.
"Yeah?" He called back, walking into the living room and standing next to me.
"There's a girl scout here for you." I said walking away.
"Haha. So funny. I'm your ride, dumbass." She sneered. I turned back around.
"You've gotta be kidding me." I mumbled.
"Yep. David, her brother, goes to Cloverfield with your brother and he has to drop off Skylar, so we thought it'd be easier than you walking. They live not to far from here." Sure. Because spending twenty-thirty minutes in the car with Skylar Hudson was easier for me. Thanks dad.
"Fine." I walked over slowly to my backpack, slung it over my shoulder and walked even more slowly to my death. "Walking to my death over here." I mumbled under my breath. I didn't think anyone catched it until Skylar let out a small laugh.
"Sky, are you okay?" David asked, looking at her.
"Yea, um, I just thought of a funny joke." She lied. I knew it was a lie. No one else probably did.
