Chapter 63

Elton's POV

Colby's face showed he was confused, terrified and shocked at the same time.

"Mr. Brock, my partner and I were the two who got to you first when you went through your overdose, how are you?" One of the them asked and he looked between Sam, Corey and I.

"Hi, uh. Yeah no I'm doing good, glad to be back home with my daughter. Why exactly are you guys here?" He asked and they chuckled.

"We are here about Mr. Castee getting partial custody of your daughter. Both the mother and Elton have complied" he said and Colby nodded.

"Okay, uh yeah do you need like an interview type thing?" Colby asked and they walked to our kitchen, sitting equipment on the counter.

"Come sit right here sir and we are going to record your answers while we ask a few questions, the we will leave" the other said and Colby followed them.

Corey, Sam and I all took glances at one another before walking over as well.

"Colby Brock, your daughters mother, Y/n Y/l/n gave permission on July 17th 2023 to Elton Castee to have partial custody of your daughter, Madison Brock. You were aware he wanted to do this correct?" He asked and we watched Colby look to his side for a second.

"Yes I was aware" he responded. "Alright, are you willing to give the partial to Mr. Castee over your daughter?" He asked and Colby looked at me.

I slowly nodded and him and he looked back to the cop. "Yes" he said blankly.

"For a finalized court date, Ms. Y/l/n has given agreement to fly here to LA for the decision. Are you willing to go to that court?" He asked and Colby nodded.

"Yes sir" he said clearly. The cop turned off the recorder and stood up straight.

"All right, I'll send this recording to case workers and someone will either call or come back out to give a final court date where this will be discussed, thank you for your time Mr. Brock" he said and they shook hands.

The two cops walked out and Colby turned to me. "They showed up, no warning" Corey shrugged and Colby nodded.

"Okay I'm going to go get my daughter" he said harshly and walked away.

"Why does he seem mad?" Corey asked, Sam and I both sighed.

"I think I know why" I breathed out. "It's because Colby is an independent person and he wants to keep her safe but he doesn't like the idea of sharing custody with someone else other than Y/n... he told me" Sam explained.

"Well I hate it for him but he's struggling and he needs help with her. He's a newly single dad and it's okay to call out for help" I said and they both nodded at my words.

"I'm gonna go take Circa for a walk" I said and went to the garage.

Sam's POV

After Elton left, Corey and I exchanged looks and we both walked upstairs.

Corey went to his room and I hesitated in front of the nursery door before knocking lightly.

"Hey" I said softly and he didn't look up to me.

Colby was sitting in the rocking chair with Maddie in his arms, staring at him.

I closed the door and walked away, sighing.

"What's up?" A voice said from behind me as I walked to the stairs.

I turned and seen Tara and Kat at our
bedroom door.

"Colby won't talk to me" I said and she nodded.

"Let me talk to him" she said and I just threw a hand up and continued downstairs.
