(Shinsoxreader) heroes!

Battle!

"I'm ready." I told Shinso, "all I have to do is not die." I told him, feeling nauseous about the next match.

"Come on, you've got this," Shinso said, "his quirk is speed, and you can turn into the fastest animal in the world."

I nodded, "I suppose..."

Shinso gave me a quick hug, "Now go before they disqualify you for being late." He pushed me towards the arena.

Walking up to Iida, someone with an engine quirk, I started to feel more confident.
I could do this, I just had to try my best and stay focused.

After the match started my arm was caught and Iida dragged me towards the line. I pried his hand off before I turned into a mouse. I was unable to turn with his hand around my arm, my quirk doesn't work like that.
Turning back I pushed Iida, he nearly fell out of bounds.
Quickly he got up and I tried to come up with a plan.
Iida tried to grab my arm again, but I stepped back and kicked him, it had come to classic combat.
I used Aizawa's tricks to push him back, Iida panicked, in that second I pushed him out.

"Iida is out of bounds!" Midnight declared.
I took a breath, feeling relieved.
After that match Iida shook my hand, "You will make a great hero." He said, "It is an honour to have been able to fight you."

I smiled a little at the sincerity thing, "I-I'm just aiming for the top right now." It was more of a question than a statement, but then I looked at him more seriously, "I'm aiming to win today."

Iida looked shocked, before he smiled and nodded.

A little while off Midnight was dying, "youth!" She called out while harts surrounded her. I frowned, strange woman, midnight was.

The next few matches were different from each other.
Bakugo beat up this girl Ochaco, who, despite her disadvantages, put up a good fight.

"So..." Shinso said, "top four."

I nodded, shaking from nerves.
"Oops." I said as if I had broken his favourite thee mug.

"Were all really proud, you know." Jagaimo said from behind us. Students from 1C agreed.
"You've come really far, and you've represented us as class, you've done really great."

I smiled, "I've tried—" Shinso cut me off.

"You're talking as if she's going to lose next match." He said in a dry voice, not meeting anyone's look.

"Well..." someone spoke up, "It is Todoroki next, he beats everyone so quickly."

"Don't doubt their abilities." Shinso glared at then fiercely all of a sudden.

I looked away, could I really defeat Todoroki? He did seem strong.

Shinso talked about his strategies, I thought them over, feeling nervous.

When it was time to go I froze.
Everyone from 1C said good luck, and Shinso helped me up, "don't worry." He whispered, "I know you'll win."

I nodded. Again, I would try.

Looking at Todoroki's serious face I wanted to turn back.
Yet I knew I was lucky to even be here. The least I could do was try.

The battle started, Todoroki send a huge wall of ice my way. I turned into a bird and landed on top of it.
Shinso had suggested to dodge the ice, it was easy.

I neared Todoroki quickly and turned into a big ass bird, grabbing his shoulder and pushing him away.
He froze my leg, but I shot up and had him hold on for dear (deer lmao) life.
Yet the ice didn't stop as we hung in the air.
I flew towards the edge and swooped down, dropping him while using my wings to shoot myself further inside the lines.

Looking down Todoroki had pushed himself back with his ice. He looked up and was about to do something so I prepared myself.
A huge wall of ice was send my way.
I flew up as to not get stuck and landed on top of it, resting my wings. I tried to break the ice, I was stuck in this form now.
A new plan...

I got surprised by another wall of ice, I dodged by a hair.
Flying up I reached the sky above the arena thing. I had to think.

I ended up swooping down and hoping to surprise Todoroki.
Dodging the ice send at me I tried to reach him, but then the ice suddenly covered me. Letting out a chirp I tried to get myself lose.
Shit, I was stuck.

"Can you move?" Midnight asked, before she realised I probably couldn't answer, "(y/n) is immobilised, Todoroki has won." She declared.

Sighing I tried to get lose again. I felt frustrated, why was I this weak?
Fortunately Todoroki helped me out of the ice. "You put up a good fight." He mumbled, but I saw he was distracted by loads of things, it seemed.

Turning back at last I smiled, "Good luck with the finals!" I hoped to cheered him up.
Heading back inside I found Shinso.

He was waiting for me and he quickly rushed up to me, "You did great, you almost won, still third place is amazing!"

"Yeah." I mumbled, feeling tired.
I walked towards him and closed the distance. I put my face in his chest, "now I need a hug."

Hearing Shinso chuckle he actually hugged me, which surprised me.
I hugged back, hoping that Aizawa wouldn't be mad at me losing.
