《NICK'S POV》

"Where were you guys?!" Felix whisper-yelled at Jay and Levi, when they tried to sneak into the big room where everyone was stretching without being noticed.

One teacher looked their way, but she didn't seem to care enough to actually walk over to them and find out what happened.
"Thanks a lot for informing the teachers of our absence, Lix." Jay sarcastically remarked.

Felix scrunched his nose at the sound of that nickname, but Nick honestly thought he deserved it. And by the way Felix didn't loudly protest, it seemed he agreed.

"And jump!" Their PE teacher yelled out, while excitedly jumping up and down. Their English teacher who was standing to his right, followed his orders, albeit a little less enthusiastic.

She actually looked like she would rather be anywhere but here, and Nick would've felt for her if he hadn't been suffering this much himself.

"Okay everyone, get ready for another set of push-ups!"
"NO!" Felix yelled. "Seriously, I just can't anymore!" He dramatically fell to the ground, nearly taking down 2 girls on the way.
"Jesus, Felix." Jay stepped aside to avoid jumping directly on top of his friend.

"AND GET DOOWNN ON THE FLOOOR."
A bunch of simultaneous sighs and grunts echoed through the room, while everyone got down on the floor.

Nick also got down on the floor, in position to do some push-ups.
"Nick!" Riven poked Nick's side, causing him to drop on his stomach.
"Ouch!"

"I'm sorry." Riven whispered, but the chuckle in his voice made him sound insincere.
Nick could, obviously, not get angry at him though. It was Riven.

"Hey, do you wanna come over to my room tonight?"
Nick's heart skipped a beat. God, he hated that he still felt this way, but there was no way of denying he had felt a little spark of hope just now.

Riven continued: "My roommate told me he was going to sneak out tonight, to go to his girlfriend's room. So I was thinking of inviting you... and the others of course."

Did Riven just pause? Nick clenched his teeth, annoyed at himself for even thinking about it. Even if he did, it probably meant nothing.

"Who are you inviting?" Nick asked, mainly to get his mind to stop spiraling.
"Everyone. Seeing how Jay and Levi are basically attached at the hip right now, I kind of have to."

Riven shifted his gaze to something behind Nick.
When Nick turned his head to look, he saw Jay actually doing push-ups -what the fuck?- and Levi next to him laying on his side, staring at his boyfriend.

"Yeah, I get it." Nick laughed.
He honestly had already expected Riven would invite everyone, not just them four. Although this would mean Riven would probably spend more time talking to Matt, he didn't mind.

Ever since Jay and Levi moved back home, they barely hung out as a group anymore. Only Matt came over sometimes to chat to Riven.

"So, you're coming over, right?" Riven asked.
"Oh, yes. Of course I am."
He'd rather eat a living frog than miss out on an opportunity to spend time with Riven.

Riven smiled in a way that awakened an abundance of butterflies in Nick's stomach. "Good."
"Hey, what are you guys talking about?" Matt came crawling towards them.

"Do you want to come over to my room tonight? My roommate is going to stay in a different room."
Wait, he hadn't asked Matt yet? That probably meant Nick was the first person he invited. Although that probably didn't mean much, Nick still couldn't help but feel a bit of pride about the fact that he'd been first.
