My Mother's Love

My mother loves me so much,
She raised me strong yet questions my every touch.
She does not trust the world, she knows it's cold,
But I have God and her lessons to behold.

The people of this world make my mother fret,
Worrying for my safety with each step I get.
But I fear no man, I've got God by my side,
And my mother's advice, in Him I abide.

Mother does not doubt me, but she doubts the world out there,
Wishing she knew I'm aware of its despair.
But why is the world so cruel indeed,
Not the world but the people, that's what I mean.

I tell her it's okay, I can handle what may come,
But still she worries for her young one.
Mother needs to give the Lord praise,
As I walk each day, meeting the world face to face.

Mother, have no fear, keep the faith so dear,
Your lessons have made me strong, have kept me here.
Through ups and downs and trials I may face,
God's protection and your love, I do embrace.

We've been through hard times, we've cried and we've laughed,
The bond we share, it cannot be broken, it's crafter so fast.
You are my comfort, my shelter in the storm,
Your love is my armor, it keeps me safe and warm.

No matter how far, no matter how long,
Our hearts and our souls, they shall still belong.
Together forever, this is our way,
My mother, my best friend, forever you shall stay.
