Once upon a time, I dreamed
Of a prince to save me, it seemed
He'd take me to a land so far
Where love would bloom like a shining starBut what I found inside the walls
Of the castle that held me enthralled
Was a man who wore two faces
One charming, the other filled with tracesOf a beast that lurked within
A monster that caused me to begin
To see that my fairy tale was just a lie
That my prince charming was just a spyFor the bluebeard that hid inside
The man that I'd never seen, no matter how hard I tried
And soon I realized with sorrow and pain
That I was but a trophy, a prize to retainIn a world where love was just a dream
And I was caught in a nightmare, it seemed
So I ask myself, is this love or misery?
Am I Prince charming's wife or Bluebeard's trophy?
