From Despair to Self-Love

A little girl lost and alone,
Abandoned by parents who had flown.
Her heart was shattered, her soul in pain,
She had no hope, no will to remain.

Days turned to years, but her pain stayed,
Depression and suicide, her mind played.
Till one day she found a friend,
A relationship with God, that would never end.

Slowly she began to forgive herself for the life she had to live.
Her faith renewed, she found the strength to cope,
And fell in love with herself, her heart filled with hope.

She started to open up, to the world and to herself.
Her broken heart was healing, she was no longer in stealth.
She started to see the beauty, in herself she could confide.

She took up new hobbies, things she'd never tried.
She found joy in little things, and realized she wanted more.
Her life had been so dark, but now she could see the light.

She started to see the world, in a different hue.
She learned to love herself, and that brought her through.
She knew that life was hard, but she had faith to guide.
She found love in herself, and that she couldn't hide.

Now she stands tall, with a smile on her face,
Her past a reminder of the strength she can embrace.
She has found love, and it's here to stay,
From despair to self-love, she's come a long way.

So if you ever feel lost, and the world is too much to bear.
Just know that you're not alone, and someone out there cares.
You too can find your strength, and overcome the pain.
From despair to self-love, you too can make the same gain.
