That was it. Their relationship had progressed to the next level and there was no looking back. Both of them had stepped into each other's personal boundaries both physically and mentally. And they both were conscious about it.

It was 7:45 pm by the time they started to leave for home. After driving for around ten minutes Anuj said, "Anu, it's almost 8 pm now. By the time you reach home everybody at the Shah house would have had their dinner. Tumhe akele hi khana khana padega. So, why not we have our dinner at a restaurant and then go home? Akele khaane se toh behtar hi hai na?"

Anupama was silent for some time giving it a thought and Anuj assumed that she might want to reach home before it's too late. "Agar tumhe late ho rha ho toh koi baat nahi."

"Nahi Anuj. Hum chal sakte hai Khana khaane." she said. First, she thought she didn't want to listen to any taunts of Vanraj Shah. She then decided that she won't take any decision under the influence of that person whom she despised the most.

Anuj pulled over at a dhaba and came out to open the door of the passenger seat. He opened the door and opened his palm in front of her to take it. She looked at it and placed her hand on his with a genuine smile. He firmly held onto it as they walked towards the dhaba. Her heart skipped a beat as they slowly walked savoring the moment.

He was being a complete gentleman out on a date. Pulling the chair for her to sit and holding her hand on the table. His thumb stroked her fingers adoringly while he looked at her face. He noticed the fine lines on her forehead and below her eyes, a few strands of greying hair, her sagging cheeks that was once plump, her bowlike lips that didn't seem to have any effects of her aging physique. He admired every imperfection of her to the fullest. Anupama's orbs down casted unable to meet his exploring eyes. It gave butterflies in her stomach.

Their first ever intimate moment was interrupted by the waiter who came there to take their order. Anupama immediately pulled her hand away from his. They both ordered the usual food without going for anything extravagant. She ordered aloo ke paranthe with chhole and Anuj went ahead with dal makhani and rice. They also ordered for some gulab jamun

"Anupama. Why are you so beautiful even today?" he asked in a trance after recovering from their interruption. That brought a smile to her face as she looked up to read his expressions.

"Haann? Apki shayad aakhen kharab hai. Jaanch karwa lijiyega."

"Infact meri aakhen voh dekh paati hai jo koi aur nahi dekh pata."

"Bas hunn. Bataiye...kis angle se apko mai sundar lagti hu? Voh sundar dikhne wale din gaye. Aap apni baat kijiye. Aaj bhi 30 ya 35 ke upar nahi lagte."

"Agar tum meri nazar se khud ko dekhti tab shayad tum samajh paati." he sighed and then realized what they had been conversing. He mentally scolded himself for crossing the line and then self-analysed that they both had long forgotten that there was a line and by far it looked blurred.

"Apke nazar se dekhne ke baat se yaad aya ke agla letter kahan hai Kapadiya ji?"

"Oh haan! Mere paas hi hai. Maine rakha tha apne jacket mein lekin dena bhool gaya." He said pulling out the envelope.

The old and battered letter carried the date '14th February 1996'. When Anupama read the date, she could clearly remember Devika's words when she was at the Shah house for the stay-over. The date itself gave her chills down her spine as her mind tried gauging the revelations that this letter was going to make. She couldn't contain her curiosity and her mind was being clutched by anxiety.
