Anupama rushed behind Anuj. Once they entered the parking lot Anupama held Anuj's hand and said, "Anuj, gaadi ki chaabhi dijiye. Gaadi mai chalavungi."

Anuj obliged without a word. He just couldn't believe that he wasn't there for his sister when she needed him the most. Once they were in the car and Anupama started driving, she saw him sweating profusely and his breathing became laborious.

"Anuj. Chinta mat kijiye. Mukku theek hogi." she tried calming him down.

"Kaisa bhai hu mai! Meri behen ka yeh haal meri vajeh se hai aur mai hi nahi tha uske saath jab usko zarurat thi." he blamed himself.

"Anuj! Aap khud ko dosh mat dijiye. Apko kaise pata hota ke Mukku ke saath aisa kuch hone wala hai." she tried making him see sense.

"Nahi Anu! Tum nahi jaanti. Mai kabhi ek acha bhai ban hi nahi sakta. Yeh maine kya kar diya." his hand was fisted and hit his leg hard.

Anupama placed her hand on his and tried consoling him. He relaxed under her touch and loosened his fist.

Once she was sure that he calmed down she asked, "Yeh sab kaise hua Anuj?"

Anuj took a few deep breaths and then spoke, "Mummy, papa ke guzarne ke baad Mukku depression mein chali gayi. She started going for therapies and counselling sessions. Maine khud ko itna busy kar liya papa ka business sambhalne mein. GK hote the ghar par Mukku ke saath. Somehow, she started coming around. Uss sadme se dheere dheere bahar nikalne lagi. Lekin mai usko samay nahi de pata tha. Ya agar sach kahe toh mai khud ke sadme se bhaag rha tha. Mukku needed my attention lekin mai usko voh nahi de paya. Aur tab usko aise panic attacks shuru hue. The attacks were frequent at that time."

"And I tried spending time with her. We planned outings every month. I tried spending more time with her. I used to drop her to college and pick her up. Have her friends come over. She started getting better with time. She used to have pills and when she was better usko voh bhi bandh karne bol diya tha uske doctor ne. She started leading a normal life."

"Voh hamesha koi nayi hobby shuru karti thi. Seekhti thi aur fir jab voh monotonous hojata toh kuch naya shuru kar deti thi. Mai uske cousellor se pucha ke aisa kyun karti hai toh unhone bataya ke she is trying to keep her mind occupied and when that particular activity can no longer do that then she shifts to a new one. Unhone bola ke she is trying and mujhe usko jo karna hai voh karne dena chahiye. So, I didn't stop her."

"She wanted to go abroad for her MBA. Even though New York had some really good universities, she still chose to move out. I again consulted her counsellor and unhone kaha ke she is perfectly fine to go abroad. Unhone yeh bhi kaha she needs to be in touch with her regularly. Toh maine Mukku ko isi shart pe studies ke liye bahar bheja ke voh apne counsellor se regularly touch mein rahegi. Mai update leta tha and counsellor ne kaha ke change in her surrounding is really helping her get better."

"When she was back from her studies, I was happy that she would start working with me in our family business. But she didn't. She got the confidence that she can live on her own and she wanted to leave. At first, I didn't agree to it because I needed my sister. But she chose to leave. Then I thought if that's what helps her then I should let her go. For one year I was regularly in touch with her. She just did not stay in one place. Uske baad jab mujhe laga ke voh apna khayal rakh payegi tab maine usko apne haal pe chhod diya. Lekin ab itne saal baad aisa firse..."
