Sorry that I missed out on updating the story.
I work in Uttarakhand and you guys must be aware about the weather there. it was too cold to even sit and type. Once I reach home from office then its me under the duvet battling the freezing temperature.
Now that I came home to Mumbai I am actually able to sit and write. Next week again I will be travelling back to Mumbai and again write the next few chapters.
So, here goes the next chapter.
Happie Reading!!!
Anupama returned home and took out the second letter to read and right then she heard the phone ring. She checked whose call it was and the caller ID displayed Mr. Shah.
"Pakhi ne pura ghar sar pe utha rakha hai. Tum jaldi idhar aavo Anupama!" it sounded more of an order than a request. He didn't greet or wait for reply from her. Just a command and then disconnected the call.
Anupama was wondering as to what new drama would have incepted in the Shah house as she picked up her bag and the letter to leave. This was a very normal thing for her by now. She had witnessed all this for the past twenty-six years. A normal and boring day comes as utter surprise to her. Thinking of all this she lazily locked her house and left.
When she reached there Pakhi came running to with a wide smile on her face squealing excitedly, "Mummy!!!" pulling her hand she dragged her mother inside.
"Sweety! Tu ab batayegi ke kya hua?" Anupama was happy to see her daughter all smiling.
"Aavo toh!" she said and went inside to reveal a handmade cake placed on the centre table.
"Mummy! Mai maths mein poore class mein first ayi hoon." She added cheerfully. Anupama knew that it meant a lot to her because mathematics was her weakest subject and she always lagged behind.
It was an actual good news. "Mujhe mummy and papa dono ke saath celebrate karna tha. Isliye maine papa se kaha ke apko bula le."
"Maari Sweettudi!!" she pampered her girl for overcoming this milestone. How could she have missed this.
Pakhi pulled in her mom and dad for a selfie and immediately posted in on social media even before cutting the cake. She cut the cake and they all had dinner together like a happy family.
Anupama then went to the lawn area and made herself comfortable on the chair. She was then reminded of the letter and pulled it out to read.
Dearest Anu,
Today's day had me almost expelled from college. But for you I can endure that and much more too.
I was sitting besides a group of boys in the canteen. I happened to hear their frivolous conversation and was disgusted to the core. They happened to be discussing about girls and how they are all superficial. I tried ignoring their trivial talks but when they took your name, that's when my focus completely shifted to them.
"Mana ke tera charm har ladki ke saath chal jata hai. Par Anupama jaisi ladki kisi ke haath nahi lag sakti." A boy from that table added.
"Mai hai na yeh sab sunn sunn ke pak chuka hu. Anupama jaisi bhot se ladkiyon ko dekha hai maine. Bas shuruaat mein thodi mehnat aur fir humare isharon mein nachne lag jayegi." He smirked with that comment.
"Itna asaan nahi hai. Humare college ki saari ladkiyan Anuj ke peeche pagal hai aur voh Anupama ke peeche deewana hue fir rha hai. And I'm sure ke Anupama ko bhi yeh baat pata hai. Jab Anuj ka yeh so called charm uss pe nahi chala toh tu kis khet ki mooli hai?" the second guy added.
