Off To The Rodeo

"Good morning Becca" Their mom said as I walked into the kitchen

"Good morning" I replied "Is anyone else up?"

"The boys are, they're feeding. How are you feeling?" She asked

"Fine thank you. I don't really get hang overs too often" I said

"I guess you know Marie does. But i'm glad you don't they're not fun." She replied

"Oh good morning Becca, how are you" Their dad said walking in

"I'm good" I smiled

"You were asleep by the time we got home last night" He said

"Was I? I remember being in the truck, but that's it" I said

"Yeah, you were probably half awake but walked to the room. The boys brought Marie in. Connor said you in bed by the time they came upstairs" He replied

"Interesting" I nodded

"Got yourself changed and everything" Their dad laughed

I smiled and we both sat down at the table. I mean I did wake up in sweat pants and a tee shirt, that i'm still wearing right now. Their mom finished making breakfast and put a plate in front of me and their dad as well as placing one more down and sitting down herself. Then Connor and Braxton came walking in.

"Oh look who's up" Connor laughed

"Do you have a hang over?" Braxton asked

"Nope" I laughed

They both nodded and grabbed plates and food and joined us at the table.

"So, should we take bets on when Marie will be up" Their dad said

"I'm gonna say noon" I said

"That late?" Braxton asked

I just looked at him and everyone laughed. We all finished eating breakfast and I pulled my boots on. Walking outside, I was joined by dogs and they went and did their thing. I decided I wanted to say hi to Blackjack so I walked over to the barn and he popped his head out as soon as I walked in.

"Hey buddy" I smiled

Rubbing the giant horses nose, I realized i'm gonna miss him when we go back to school. Not like I knew I was gonna see him again, but he's a good boy.

"Whatcha doing?" I heard

"Saying hi" I replied

Turning around, Connor and Braxton were walking towards me.

"Are you going to wear pajamas all day?" Braxton asked

"I mean, I could" I laughed

"Bum" Connor said

"Oh always" I replied

"Are they coming tonight?" Braxton asked

"I don't think Marie is. What are you two doing tonight" Connor asked

"Me? Nothing. I think she's going to the vet place over night" I said

"You ever been to the rodeo?" Connor said

"Nope. There's none around me" I replied

"Really?" Braxton said

"Yeah. Closest I got was 4H events" I nodded

"You should come. I mean Connor's not running but it's still the rodeo." Braxton smiled

"Maybe. Or I could just sit on the couch all night" I laughed
