Meeting The Family

"So, we're off to the barn. You guys have a key so we should be good" I said

"Yup have fun" Maranda said

"You too" I replied

Walking out to the truck, Connor and I hopped in and I started the drive. It's a little chilly today so we're both in jeans, boots, and a hoodie. I also have a flannel jacket with me just in case. Pulling up to the barn, I parked the truck and saw Barb come walking out. Hopping out I saw a smile creep up on her face and I jogged over to hug the lady.

"Becca! How have you been?" She said

"I've been good. Actually. How about you" I said

"Good. Who's your friend?" She asked

"Barb this is Connor. I live with his sister in Montana who was my college roommate. Connor this is Barb" I said

"Nice to meet you" Connor said

"Nice to meet you too. Have you been around horses? I mean, you're from Montana and look the part" She laughed

"Yeah we have a farm and her and my sisters house is on the farm" He laughed

"And he ropes in the actual rodeo" I said

"Oh really" Barb said

"Well now you ride in the actual rodeo" Connor smiled

"Becca!" Barb said

"And this horse is an ass hole too" I laughed

"Is he worse then the one you rode here?" She chuckled

"No" I laughed

"But he did buck me and my dad off and no one can ride him except her cause he'll buck or take off" Connor said

"And how did you find that out?" She asked

"His sister made me ride him and I made the horse run circles around their arena" I said

"Ah, so you worked him like you did Bruiser" Barb said

"Yes. Speaking of.." I said trailing off

"He's in the side field. Grumpy old man as always" Barb said

I smiled and jogged away from the two. I heard Barb striking up a conversation with Connor as I left them in the dust. Walking up to the fence Bruiser put his head up and looked over pinning his ears back.

"Hey, that's no way to greet someone who took care of your grumpy ass." I said

He huffed but walked over with his ears still pinned back. Putting my hand out he did a horse sniff and huffed then tried to eat my hand.

"Jerk off" I said

Rubbing his nose, I was joined by Barb and Connor, then he trotted away.

"Hey" I pouted

"He doesn't like strangers" Barb laughed

"He's pretty" Connor said "And worse then Black Jack"

"Yes" Barb and I said

"So, were you coming to visit or did you want to go for a ride?" She asked

"I was just coming to visit. But I mean.." I smiled

"Grab him up. I'll go grab you a horse too" Barb said

"Alright asshole you hear that" I yelled

Connor laughed and we walked to the barn. I grabbed a lead rope and halter then went back out and right into the pasture. Bruiser pinned his ears yet again and watched as I walked up to him. Patting his neck he huffed as I put the halter on. Leading him back to the barn he reluctantly listened and I tied him in the cross ties. While being the ass hole he is, he knows how to un tie himself.
