First Time Riding

"Girl are you ready?" Marie said

"I think so?" I said

"You think? I got off and i'm so excited" She smiled

I smiled back at my friend as she ushered me to my room.

"What are you wearing?" She asked

"I guess what I normally do?" I said

"Jeans, boots, and a long sleeve?" Marie asked

"Yeah" I nodded

"Okay, get changed then we gotta go load up" She said

I nodded and changed into the clothes I listed. Smiling, I grabbed my hat off the hook and met my friend by the door. Tonight is the opener for the rodeo. So my first time actually competing. I feel as though I could vomit. Hopfully I don't. Getting in Marie's truck, we drove over to the main house and down to the barn. Connor came walking out and hooked up the trailer. Marie pulled forward and stopped by the barn doors. We both hopped out and I gave Connor a smile, who gave me one in return.

"You guys ready?" She asked

"Yup" Connor asked

"I'm ready to see Becca kick ass" We heard from the barn

Looking over Braxton came walking over with Connor's horse.

"Hi buddy" I smiled

"Your man is angrily stomping inside" Braxton said

I nodded and walked in the barn. Once Black Jack saw me he stopped stomping and put his head up.

"Hey buddy, you ready to kick ass tonight" I said

He shook his head and I untied him from the post. Walking him out of the barn, he loaded into the trailer. Making sure both horses had water and hay, I locked up while Connor and Marie got all the tack. Once that was secured we all hopped in the truck and I got shot gun.

"So, are your fangirls going to crowd the trailer?" Marie asked

"Oh just wait" I smirked

"The guys don't even know" Connor said

"So do I have to play peacemaker" Braxton said

"No you have to choose sides" I said looking back at him

"Why?" He said

"Well, his friends don't like me and I will fight a bitch and you know Marie will too" I said

"She's not wrong" Marie laughed

"Oh god" Connor sighed

I just smiled and we all chatted while making the hour drive to the arena. Pulling up, Marie drove back to where the trailers are and parked in a decent spot where no one was yet. Getting out, we took both horses out and I put a bareback pad on Black Jack.

"Be right back" I smiled

Putting his bridle on, I hopped up and let him run around the open area before all the trailers pulled in. Gotta get out the zoomies, we are getting better at this though. Coming back to the trailer, I tied Black Jack up and got him all groomed.

"So, did they go off to see their buddies?" I said

"Yup" Marie laughed

"Dorks" I laughed

Marie helped me get Black Jack ready then manned the fort while I went and signed in. And of course Connor and Braxton were up there with their buddies.

"Sup boys" I said

"So you're competing now" The one kid said

"Yeah" I replied
