Marie's Man

Opening my eyes, I was on my side and had two arms wrapped around me. Surprisingly, I slept pretty damn good for using a saddle as a pillow, and Connor. Connor was also my pillow last night. Glancing at my phone, it's a little after 6am.

"You awake?" I heard

"Good morning" I smiled rolling over

"Good Morning babe" Connor smiled back

Giving him a kiss, we both sat up and looked around. Braxton was already up and feeding the horses. He also had a small fire going. When we stopped at the ridge last night we had all eaten some type of granola for dinner. With that being said i'm freaking starving.

"Why's he got a fire going?" I asked

"He brought some spam to have for breakfast. Enough for everyone too" Connor replied

Nodding, we both got up and Braxton jumped looking over at us.

"Good morning you two" He said

"Morning" We both replied

"So who's waking up sleeping beauty" Braxton laughed

"I'm awake" Marie yelled "I just don't want to get up"

"And you let me do all the work?" Braxton asked

"Yeah sounds like Marie" Connor said

"True" I laughed

Walking over to the horses, I rubbed Black Jacks neck as he ate. Hopefully he still behaves today, i'm not trying to sprint 4 hours back to the house. Though it would mean we got back fast. Nah, my body would hurt more then it already does. Sitting in a saddle all day is not the comfiest thing in the world.

"Whatcha got cooking Brax?" Marie asked walking over

"Spam" He shrugged

"Well it's better then nothing" Marie replied

Once the horses were done eating, we got them all saddled up again and ate some of the spam Braxton brought. I think i've had this before, I can't remember. It's pretty good though. We all ate sitting on the ground while the fire died out. This boy made it with sticks the old fashioned way, or well, the survival way. Once that little fire was safely out, we all hopped back up into the saddles and Black Jack wants to run.

"No buddy. We have four hours of riding today." I said

"We can start off trotting if you'd like. We are coming up to the open field he can run across" Connor said

I nodded and we all set off. Trotting for about half an hour, we came to a big open field and Braxton took off on his horse.

"Catch me if you can" He yelled

Smirking, I kicked Black Jack sides, and he took off like a bullet. Easily catching up and passing Braxton who looked at us with wide eyes. Turning, I looked back and saw the siblings racing as well. After spending a few minutes riding around the field, Black Jack wasn't as tense, so we walked them for a bit to cool down after that. 

"How much longer till we get home?" Marie asked

"Little under three hours. We should still get back by noon" Conner replied

"I'm so excited for food.. And to meet this mystery man of yours" Braxton said

"If you two keep it up, i'll tell Becca to call him and tell him not to come" Marie threatened

"You have his number?" Braxton asked

"Of course" I smiled

The next few hours weren't super eventful. We stopped at one of the creeks to let the horses drink and also take a break ourselves. Then kept on riding, coming over the slight ridge that over looks their house, I saw a tent and could already smell the food. Looking at my watch, it's about 12:15.
