New House

"Good morning" I said to my cousin

"Morning, is your friend up yet?" Maranda asked

"She's horrible to wake up early. I was just going to get everything ready then wake her up before we leave" I laughed

"Sounds good" She laughed

I'm just staying in the clothes i'm in because, well i'm going to be in the truck all day so I don't care. Getting my snacks, I put them in the truck and made sure I had my trash bags. I like to keep my truck clean. Doing the same for Marie's truck, since I had her keys, I decided now was a good time to wake her up.

"Hey, sleepy. We gotta leave in like 20 minutes" I said shaking my friend

"Ugh, why so early" She groaned

"I don't want to hit a lot of traffic" I laughed

She moaned and groaned but got out of bed. I helped her make it real fast and she used the bathroom. Folding my blankets, I put that with the pillow I was using and my cousin just said to leave it on the couch. Once my friend came out of the bathroom, she got coffee and I ate a granola bar. I'm not really a coffee person, doesn't do much for me. Marie thrives on caffeine.

"Well Maranda. Thank you for housing me for 2 months. Wish me luck when I go back to New York to get the rest of my shit" I laughed

"Oof good luck. And any time you want to come visit. You can fly down. But you two, yes Marie you are welcome as well. You guys can come hang out and enjoy the Kansas BBQ" My cousin said

We both hugged her and headed out to our trucks. Starting them up. I waved and started the drive up to Montana. The one thing Marie also brought were walkie talkies. This way we can talk to each other while we drive. In case of emergencies but also if we get bored and to coordinate pit stops.

"Hey, how much gas do you have?" Marie asked

"We both filled up last night" I laughed

"Oh yeah. Just wanted to double check. We should be good for a little bit then" Marie said

About 3 hours in Marie of course had to pee so we made out first pit stop. I decided to go just cause I know i'll have to go as soon as we leave. Once we finished there we got back on the road and knocked out a few more hours before making the first gas stop. We're not really going off of her gas tank, we're going off mine since old trucks burn more gas. She's just filling up when I do since that's the smart thing to do. After we left our first gas stop my phone started ringing.

"Why is she calling me" I laughed

Glancing down, that is not Marie name. That is her brothers name.

"Hello" I said putting him on speaker

"Hey, hows the drive" Connor said

"Not bad. Just made our first gas stop" I said

"How far are you?" He asked

"Uhm, about 5 or 6 hours in" I repled

"Gotta love old trucks" He laughed

"Tell me about it" I replied

"What time do you think you guys will get in?" He asked

"Probably around 5 tonight" I replied

"When did you guys leave?" Connor said

"4am. Getting your sister up wasn't fun" I laughed

"Oh I bet. Well drive safe. Let me know when you guys get in" Connor said

"Will do" I replied

Hanging up, my music started playing again and I continued on my way. 3 Bathroom breaks and 5 gas stops later, I recognized the one road we were driving down and my GPS said 15 minutes away.
