13. Daddy Issues

"Good morning" Caroline greeted, entering the kitchen and seeing her sister already there, drinking her cup of coffee, "Please tell me you left me some coffee".

Lily didn't say anything, just stared at her sister, confusing her.

"Lily, you okay?" a slightly concerned Caroline asked.

"Do you know what happened to Mason?" Lily asked Caroline.

Caroline looked at Lily in shock, not expecting that question, "What?".

"I told you Caroline, that if I find out that something happened to Mason and you knew about it, I will never forgive you" Lily reminded.

"Lils--".

"For once, tell me the truth!" Lily yelled, "For once in your life, don't lie to me Caroline, not about Mason, just tell me this, did Damon kill him, did Damon kill Mason?".

"Lily, you got to let me explain" Caroline pleaded, confirming Lily's doubt.

"You knew" Lily whispered, feeling extremely betrayed, "You knew and so did Stefan, you both knew that Mason was dead but still you two let me have hope that he will come back, I trusted you Caroline!".

"I'm sorry, Lily" Caroline cried, "I'm so sorry".

"Your sorry isn't going to bring Mason back" Lily snapped, her eyes starting to glow yellow.

"Lily please just listen to me" Caroline pleaded.

"There's nothing left to hear" Lily stated, "For someone who claims to hate Damon, you sure as hell didn't mind covering for his deeds, I get why Stefan stayed quiet, Damon is his brother, but I don't get why you stayed quiet Caroline? Even after knowing how much Mason did for me, you still stayed quiet about his murder, and because of that I have lost all respect for you".

"No Lily, please" Caroline cried, but Lily ignored her cries and simply left the kitchen, wanting to be left alone before she lost control.

"What's wrong?" Stefan asked, entering the Forbes's household after receiving an SOS message from Caroline.

"Lily knows about Mason's death" Caroline informed, "She knows that Damon killed Mason, and she knows that you and I hid it from her, I swear I didn't say a word".

"It's that women Jules, she had run-in with Damon" Stefan concluded.

"Lily is so upset, the look on her face, she feels so betrayed by us" Caroline said.

"Wow, this is bad" Stefan realised, feeling extremely bad for hurting Lily, "Where is Lily now?".

"Right here" Lily said, coming out of her bedroom.

Stefan took a step towards Lily, "Lily, just listen to me once, I can explain everything".

"Explain?" Lily asked, "Go on Stefan, explain to me how your brother killed the person who took me in when no one else did, who was the one person who actually cared about finding about my biological parents, explain to me how because of your brother I'm never going to know about my parents, my real parents, go on Stefan, defend Damon, make his actions right!".
